P-51D-25NA "Bald Eagle", a currently flying Mustang owned by Jim Beasley of Philadelphia, Pa.
This plane is painted to resemble a P-51B from the 374th Fighter Squadron, 361st Fighter Group, Eighth Air Force. This ariplane was 42-106839, flown by Lt.Robert Eckfeldt.

This was done using Jesters-Inc's recently uploaded template - very good one, I might add!

Great work Jarink http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif. I did the B model some time back and had a blast doing it too http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif.

Very nice mate, I also did this as the original 'B' version, blue looks good on it though.

Cool 'B', Chris!
I saw a model someone made of the original, but they used blue instead of green. I could only find the one B&W pic, so I held off doing it.

The current-day plane is indeed done in Insigina Blue. The other pic above really doesn't show it that well as this one. Both pics are from an airshow this summer in Peoria, IL. Bald Eagle was one of the only vintage (WWII) warbirds that attended and the only to perform. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

I've also got a series of Pics in blue on the 'D' model flown by Jimmie Hunt, owned by Jim Beasley (or was at time of book publication)

There is a discussion on the paint forum (somewhere)relating to the blue colouring, and why some A/C are painted so, poss to do with old photos showing the green as blue.
Still a nice scheme though. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
