View Full Version : A question about zoom & distance
Hi ppl
The question I want to ask is: You use 1.5X or 6X zoom while calculating the distance to the ship? I mean when you use the stadimeter
because the range differs when using different zoom levels
thx

It adjusts automatically. See for yourself. 4 degrees in 1.5x zoom equals 1 degree in 6x zoom. 1:4.
Ok thx http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif I'll check that again

Yes but I believe the graphics is wrong and cannot be used. The calculation becomes correct anyway. If you use the horizontal scale when you have the torpedoes slaved to the scope, and you know the lead you want, then you must not be zoomed in when using the horizontal scale. So therefore I assume the graphics must be all wrong when you are zoomed in. Should be wrong for the vertical scale too. And as we know it is also offset 3 degree to the hull. What more is wrong with the periscope view?
Anyways, if you need to shoot when zoomed in point directly at the target then turn the scope the degrees you decided and shoot in desired direction.
And one more question: I couldn't find "periscope depth" order in game and I just order 12 metres depth each time I need to use the periscope - can anyone tell me hotkey or order button for that?

Pressing "p" will order periscope depth (12m). However 14m is generally considered to be a safer periscope depth while in a convoy. You can still see the surface and you reduce the risk of getting run over by merchants.
To access the attack periscope use "F3", to access the observation periscope use "o".
(I believe most of the keys are listed in the ingame help ("F1") as well as on the quick reference chart that came with your game.)
thx very much
