The old series of books from the Dragonlance saga is moving to the silver screen. It seems an animated movie is being released sometime in the future.

Here's a picture of some old artwork from the series. I used to love to recreate the art of Dragonlance when I was younger.

Wait is this real? The cast seems like a joke. How can you get a Jack Bauer to play a frail/powerful mage?

Lucy Lawless should be Tika if she is going to be in the movie. I cant imagine Rosenbaum with long hair. He's better bald.

It's animated so the cast is just voices.

The word animated seems to have eluded my eyes. It all makes sense now.

Micheal Ironside's or Jeremy Iron's voice would make this movie all the better.

I still remember reading these books back in the sixth grade. What great stories!

I'll have to look to see who's animating the film...

They have the comics out. I think book one and two is on trade paperback.

Cool. Hopefully it'll be good. I briefly remember reading these when I was younger.

Been quite a while since I read those. Probably twenty or so years ago. The characters still stay in my mind. Some people feel these books were better than the LOTR trilogy.

Here is a photo from later in the series when Sturm dies. Laurana stands over his dead body. I always liked Laurana. I think if I ever had a daughter I would name her Laurana.

Excellent news, I saw some comics the other day too, the name Flare comes from the Dragonlance books, Steel's Blue Dragon. I also have a Blue and Red dragon tattoo that came from my love of the Dragonlance books.

I have that picture on a jpg. I'll post some of the art up later.

Why do I always have bad feelings about stuff like this? I always wonder how they're going to screw it up.

I had the same feelings about Lord of the Rings, but that turned out well.

But then again, there's that god-awful "Dungeons and Dragons" movie that Jeremy Irons couldn't save....

I pray this turns out well. But I won't bet on it. *sigh*

Hey Jeremy Irons tried. He was a great villian in that movie.

The Dragonlance "Chronicles" and "Legends" trilogies are the best fantasy books ever written, hands down. There is really no getting any cooler or more absolutely badass than Raistlin Majere. I'm stoked about this animated movie.

Jeremy Irons has a beautiful voice. I wish he'd stop being in such **** movies.
