I stayed offline doing single player and terrorist hunts because i didnt want to be dissapointed. Last night i grew alittle bored and thought i would see what the big deal was. Im sure the PS3 people are pissed off but i saw no big problems on the 360 side of it. I played about 10 matches all green pinged of course and it was flawless.

Here's what all the complaining is about: I beat the game in single player and want to try my luck against you guys.
For the record, I have a very stable connection with good ping times, the PS3 is in a DMZ and there's nothing running on the other computers hogging bandwidth. I was a network tech for years and blaming cusomter-side equipment or configuration outside of our scope of support was standard practice when we knew it was broken and couldn't admit it while we worked on a fix, so don't try that **** Ubi >http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
OK, go to play online, and do a custom search.
I just want to run around and kill people and respawn as fast as possible, get out some anger issues, drop some frags and giggle as their limp bodies flop around all limp and funny. SO:
Search: Deathmatch. Any map. GO!
Searching... Searching...
Here it comes up with a nice long list of various servers in various maps with various settings. Because you think you have a choice you scroll through a pick a map that you like on a dedicated server with enough people on it to make it interesting but not so many as to lag it up.
Silly boy! You can't connect to that server. After a few tries you do a re-search and immediately start clicking on the first one that pops up:
Unable to connect.
Ok. Down. X
Unable to connect.
Ok. Down. X
Unable to connect.
Ok. Down. X
Hangs... then... JOY! "JOINING MATCH...."
10 seconds... 20 seconds... then...
UNABLE TO CONNECT!
FINE! DOWN! X!
Server is already full.
ARG! DOWN! X!
UNABLE TO CONNECT
This goes on for a while until you give up and go replay a single player scene or, MAYBE YOU CONNECT. If you're lucky there's 17 mins left on it and you play it down to the end... but more often than that, with about 11 mins left all of the sudden your squat and take cover commands don't work and you see someone and you shoot them but they don't die... then the loading screen, the title music, and a message saying something to the effect of "unable to remain connected".
This is pretty frustrating, especially when I for one have been eagerly awaiting this game because I'm an old fan of the RS series and Vegas 1 was a crappy port with an "online mode" that could hardly pass as one (just randomly joins any match??). At least it would connect. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif Also, with contests and stuff like that coming up, it would be nice to take part in that kind of thing, but so far I haven't played more than 5 or 6 successfully connected and remained connected matches since I've owned the game, and that sucks ***.
So, that's what all the complaining is about. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

so the ps3 addition has problems. Go buy a 360?

I think most 360 players are complaining about reset characters, terrorists that spawn out of thin air right behind/in front of you, and achievement bugs.
There may be some network issues, but I think most of them are only experienced by PS3 owners.

1. Edition
2. That's a ridiculous thing to say. Plenty of people own PS3's and they should be just as entitled to a bug-free experience as anyone else.

Reset characters is caused by turning off the 360 while at loading or saving screen this happens in every game. Yes terrorists spawning outta no where is annoying but who really cares. What has gaming come to when all you care about is achievments, 5 years from now you will look back and be like why the **** did i care i dont even have a 360 anymore.

I dont know how many times I have to say this but...
LIVE > PS3 network. You get what you pay for.
I wouldnt want to play against you laggin PS3ers anyway.
Ported games = 360 > PS3
I bought a PS3 for the exclusives, not the multiplatform games.
Just like GTA4. Im willing to bet it will be better online for 360 cause LIVE ownz.

Yeah well for the rest of us who have wives to answer to and children to feed, owning a PS3 AND a 360 isn't an option and telling someone to go buy a different console in response to bugs in a game for a particular platform is like saying "Buy a Mac" when they own a PC. Might be a good idea, but it doesn't solve the issue http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
The fact of the matter is that when bugs are found in a game, the *proper* response is to fix it, not to blame the console. The problems could have just as easily arisen on the 360 platform, and you'd be just as defiant when people told you to dump that M$ heap and buy a "real" console, citing the bluescreen of death. That's just a strawman arguement: settin' em up and knockin them down.
BTW, the "you get what you pay for" statement doesn't really apply here either; I used XBox Live for years and experienced *plenty* of troubles, dropped hosts, connection failures and LAG in that time, despite paying for it every month.
And the cost of PSOnline (ie, FREE) was a deciding factor in going PS3 over 360 for me, because you shouldn't have to be extorted by Microsoft to play peer-to-peer games.
Also I like PS controllers better. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
