I set the zoom in the Lock-On Options for the X45's Rotator 1. However, it doesn't work. . .what set-up should be in the X45's profile for it to work. If not this, what do I have to do for the zoom on the rotator to work?
Thanks!

the anolog zoom only works with mouse view enabled. Luckly in your X45 profile you can assign mouse input to whatever hat you want to use for the view.
Also make sure you change the zoom profile within the game to axis from slider and add a bit of a deadzone or else it will jump like crazy.

Well, when I do what you said, I can zoom. However, it does more than zoom. . .since it is set as a mouse axis, too, it zooms, AND moves up and down. . . I only want it to zoom. . .How do I fix this?
Thanks again!

no, don't set the rotory to mouse axis, set the hatswitch you want to use to pan your view to mouse axis, then set the rotory to zoom within the game.

I find that it suits me better just to program one of the rotators in 3 bands: a small deadband and zoom on the others. Its a matter of taste

That is what I originally had and the rotary doesn't zoom.
I use a modified profile from Precog. . .I have my Hat 1 for Pan Views.
I originally went into LO-MAC's options and set the zoom to Rotary 1, and it didn't work.
I must be missing something. . .what do I need to have the Rotary 1 set to in the X45 profile?
Thanks!

the nice thing about the anolog zoom is that all the way out on the rotory is min zoom, all the way in is max and the center detent is the default you set in the game. I find it's a lot easier this way.

Dayglow's post. .. .could you tell me how you do yours, step-by-step.
I did try to set up bands. . .I don't know if I like it or not, but, it is the first thing that worked. . .

ok, first in X45 profiling software and select the hat you want to use to pan view
http://www.members.shaw.ca/cinman/step1.jpg
change it to mouse by right clicking
http://www.members.shaw.ca/cinman/step2.jpg
make sure your rotory is set to axis
http://www.members.shaw.ca/cinman/step3.jpg
make sure mouse view is on
http://www.members.shaw.ca/cinman/step4.jpg
select the joystick to setup
http://www.members.shaw.ca/cinman/step5.jpg
define the axis
http://www.members.shaw.ca/cinman/step6.jpg
make sure zoom is set to the rotory and then make sure it is set to axis and not slider. Then give it a dead zone.

ok, go to this screen:
http://www.members.shaw.ca/cinman/step7.jpg
Notice how mine is setup. I have slider 0 (the throttle) set to thrust. The defualt mapping also has it set to thrust left (or right, I forget). click on the line where it is set to left or right and then click clear on the top, so only thrust is selected.
Then click on the rudder line. Then on the side adjust the deadband so there is one in the middle. (the bottom switch should be set to axis, not slider.

Can you make the rudder work with the rudder switch at the bottom of the throttle?
Thanks

it should work already, but if it isn't go to the screen, then highlight the rudder line. Hit clear. Now hit the change button and move the rocker to assign it. Then make sure it is an axis not a slider and adjust the curve and deadband to your liking.
