Forumer and IRC UNO tournament anyone? [Archive]

I was thinking last night, that it'd be really fun to have some sort of a little tournament in partner uno for XBL arcade. I don't know about anyone else, but I've absolutely adored this game so far. So if someone, with more orginizational skills than I, would be willing to set this thing up, I really think we'd all have a good time. Good old SwP and I have been Pwning noobz alot lately so he's off limits as a partner. Oh yeah, and I'm sure Jinx wouldnt mind offering up a couple thousand dollars to the winning team, so hey thats some incentive ;P. Anyway, if you're down,think about a partner you'd liek to team up with and just write a small reply so we know who all would be willing to participate.

Ed, I'd be more than willing to get on and play some with ya so that you can get a feel for the game. It is a VERY easy game to learn.

Doc, I'd rather the 35th anniv deck, but I just want to get the consensus.

Yes Ed, uno on the cover is very simple, match a color or a number/command card. Beyond that it gets a little tricky. You actually get into some strategy http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif. In the online mode you have the ability to bluff when throwing a draw 4 wild card. The person having the DR4 wild thrown b4 them can inturn decide whether they want to challenge the player to call thier bluff. Makes the game very interesting at times.

I think I've played UNO maybe once or twice in my life. I'm looking at downloading this but, I'm probably not "tournament" material.

Ed and I could be a team. Maybe our beginner's luck, "might" get us somewhere...

I'm having major issues with some violent storms passing through near me. Power keeps kicking out. I'm gonna pull the plug on the couple thousand dollars worth of equipment I got till this blows over. Hopefully, soon.

Indeed,Doc... storms and home theater gear don't mix well. Just last week, a utility crew was installing new lines on the power mains near my house, and I ended up unplugging... better safe than sorry.

I can do Friday, mos' def. But Saturday is out, until after 5 PST. So, lemme know what ya'll prefer.

It seems a bit, odd, actually, asking you to schedule your own humiliating defeat. But, there you have it. Please stand in a single file line, that the Fish and I might more efficiently rob you of your dignity. :P

Well it's a tournament right? we can just have the matches when everone who's turn it is to play is around for them. All we'll have to do is have a tournament tree design indicating who's palying against who. The rest should sort itself out.

That sounds good to me Dread, but in order for me to draw out the brackets, I need to know how many teams and who's on the teams. Ok,So there's another team...Slick and Max.

Thus far: Myself n SwP : Magiz n TheGoodEd : PaC n Cheeses(maybe) : Dread n Brayn : Slick n Max.
Thats 5 teams, if we can get 3 more teams, a double elim bracket would work. Just let me know.

Brayn, it doesnt look like we'll have enough teams to get this thing goin. People just havent gotten partners yet, so I guess we'll postpone it until the teams are declared.
