Looking for a P-47D-27 Template.

Hi All,

I want to have ago at personalizing a skin with my own custom markings but I cant find a template for the P-47D-27. I did find one here http://www.flugzeugwerk.net/xflugz.htm#P47D but it has US markings and I want to apply a CAF marking instead. I found a great template for a Hurricane here http://www.1java.org/sh/ with no Country markings but the link for the P-47 seems to be down. Anyone know where I can get a template with no country markings for the P-47D-27?

Also what's the rule for customizing/altering a template? I don't want to irritate anyone by altering something in a way or manner that the original artist didn't intend. I must add that I have no intention of uploading my results anywhere they will be for my own personal use only.

You can delete the layer containing the markings. Snorri's templates are well-known for great quality and being layered as well. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

yep snorris template you can remove the layers, like the excelllent hurricane on which i use too, as for stepping on toes, well i leave any of the original Artists, and thats what they are, markings on the template and add my own like repainted by TonyT etc. I also when posting the skin add that it was painted on a skin or template made by Snorri, Serval etc as they deserve the credit, no matter how much i have messed up there original masterpieces /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

Better then to delete layers:
Turn them on and off by clicking on the eye in front of the layer to want to toggle on or off.

That is actually the way I work.
You really don't want to know how much my own Hurricane template has grown. The camouflage and weathering of every Hurricane I made is in it to easy reuse.

I just started working again on a couple of IL-2's yesterday after being busy at work. Like the Hurri, I made a template that contains layers for all versions.

After I finished those IL-2's and 3 other skins I promised to people I will make the Silver P-40 template (read compile it to a downloadable size).
I could do the same for the P-47 if people are interested (just check my P-47 skins to check)
