Real story of fantasy?

Are all or some of the heroes games based on a book and if yes who is a writter? If no can you give me some links or a hint about it?

I think they told the story through Might&Magic games... not just heroes but others too.

There is no book (at least, not for Heroes). The story originated in the games, nowhere else.
