HC mode + Other Settings (dedicated server)

some of these are probably able to successfully be changed for a dedicated ranked server (this is how I found the hardcore thing). If you find anything interesting, post it here . . . edit2: I want to give a nod to the '#2BCA custom maps HC' server, when I realized that there was a HC dedi out there it prompted me to figure out how to get one up and running.

Some of the settings, like Max Score are locked in ranked.

Why was this done?!? It would be fun to be able to play epic 100+ kills DM games for example.

I have fiddled some but have not had a proper test session. I launched a server using a config with the following settings, and none of them appeared to 'stick', as the server window text displayed them all at their default values.

setsetting reticuletargetmaxdistance 10
setsetting preroundtime 20
setsetting respawninvincibletime 3</pre>

I believe kmcrobb has had some success with adjusting the respawn time.

edit - with 'reticuletargetmaxdistance' I was trying to have a HC-style-no-nametag game but with the default, non-HC damage model.

Aha! Ive been looking for this post! It has tons of settings right there in your scree, all of the ones it loads at least.

I'm capturing standard out and logging it to a text file (since the new SL doesn't seem to have a log file). Next time I get on my server I'll upload the log file to my server, it'll be easy to get the list of init commands then.

Mchat I hope that you will try make your Extender works with new serverlauncher.
We would like to give some players lets say to "power user" rights to kick out from servers those who dont follow rules but we wouldnt like to give them full access to the server administration. And without your tool it seems to be impossible do it like this.
So please dont give it up and try make it works.

I agree, and Im sure all the hosts are grateul for what you have done for us. It looks like we were supposed to have local control and it got screwed up alaong the way, so hopefully you will be able to bring us a great tool once again, after they fix it (I hope)

In my dedicated_server.cfg is write "SetSetting respawntime 10 SetSetting respawninvincibletime 5"

But when i launch server, respawntime stay at 5 and respawninvicibletime at 10

I can't change that, ranked or not

Want to know something funny? My friend went and bought FC2 yesterday, and I told him so many good things about it (this was before I played the new patched version) and once we finally got on, we were experiencing all of these issues and more........he got that PB kick like 3 times before he said "**** it" and I just can't believe that Ubi takes SO LONG working on this patch, only to need ANOTHER patch to fix all the crap they screwed up in this one. This is getting seriously tiring. I'm starting to hate this game, and I didn't think it would happen.

Well I really love Hardcore mode and am enjoying the game as much or more than ever with the patch. Somewhat fewer PB kicks are occurring, as well.

For PB Fraps and X-fire must be updated.

If you continue to have problems after updating PB then remove Pb via Control Panel and out of game file, Reload PB from evenbalance and Boom your done and should be good to go.
