Love the smell of napalm in the morning? Want to fly the Marine Corps way? This is a semi-historical 12 mission campaign built around VMF-312 aka "Day's Knights" or "The Checkerboarders" and their stint on Okinawa in April 1945. The squadron flew intercepts, escort missions, tac air strikes and anti-shipping strikes. A large part of their function was fleet CAP and anti-kamikaze intercepts. http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c193/huevans/oki02.jpg

The campaign includes DF's with late model Japanese fighters, such as Franks, Jacks and Georges and with kamikaze aircraft including the Ohka "baka bomb". Available ordnance includes napalm and conventional bombs, AP rockets (also used in the air-to-air role in the campaign) and 20mm cannon.

There are also a couple of airfield interdiction missions flown over Kyushu, including a B-24 escort strike. http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c193/huevans/oki06.jpg

11 of the 12 missions are already written, subject to some fine tuning. Anyone interested in Beta testing some of the missions or the campaign is welcome to let me know. http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c193/huevans/oki04.jpg

Sounds like fun. Suggestion for your beta testing, set up a PM thread and invite those intrested in the test. This way you can monitor mission updates and all the testers have a central location to find out information. That being said, I can do some testing, while working in between my current project.

I'm pretty fair on the missions and briefings...but you need someone to back up my spelling http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif Dunkelgrun? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

OOOHHHH!!!! Ive been wanting to take on some kamikazes.......and Okinawa is just the place to do it. And a chance to fly against assorted japanese AC. yuup. Im kinda busy wiht my own project rt now, but you should have no trouble findind testers. Theyre the most important factor in cmpn blding.

Great looking shots.......a real pacific feel. I assume youre using the 4 stacker as a fast transport, since so many of them were converted to that and used at okinawa. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Actually, volunteers for the Marine Corps are coming a little slowly, so I may have to take you up on your offer.

The destroyer is actually on picket observation duty at the perimeter of the fleet. Particularly luckless destroyers were selected to man outpost locations and report on incoming Jap a/c waves. Survival time for a ship on this type of duty was 6 hours at the height of the Battle.

Tell me if you need some other ones (blank or not).

Thanks for the skins, Obelix. I've downloaded them, but haven't tried them out yet.

Here's another couple of screen shots. Two of them are from the "tor******" torpedo attack on the Japanese battleship, in a mission designed as a scale-down of the Yamato sinking. http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c193/huevans/oki08.jpg

Campaign is now 100% ready for Beta testing and all missions have been completed. Took a little longer than I expected.

13 missions with 1 alternate. 4 missions = anti-kamikaze. 1 B-24 bomber escort mission. 2 anti-shipping strikes. 2 ground attacks. 4 conventional DF/ intercept type missions. The "alternate" involves flying the mission as a USN corsair pilot off a carrier. There are 2 carrier landings and 2 carrier take-offs.

Jap a/c run the whole gamut of late war types, including Jacks, Franks, Georges, late model Zeroes and Tony's. Plus early war types used as kamikaze throwaways.

Still looking for Beta testers.
