Hi, played and finished the game with my old rig! Now I cant even play the damn thing with my new Rig???

OLD RIG
-------

INTEL P4 3.4GHZ, NORTHWOOD.
1024 SAMSUNG GENERIC MEM
ATI 9800XT 256MB
AC97 ONBOARD SOUND
ABIT IC-7G MAINBOARD
WINDOWS XP PRO (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 2
DIRECT X 9.0C (4.09.0000.0904)

NEW RIG
-------

INTEL CORE DUO 2 6600 2.4GHZ, 4MB CACHE
1024 GEIL LOW LATENCY DDR2 RAM
NVIDIA EVGA 7900GTX 512
CREATIVE X-FI SOUNDCARD
ASUS P5B DELUXE WIFI MAINBOARD
WINDOWS XP PRO (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 2
DIRECT X 9.0C (4.09.0000.0904)

---------

Ok, got this error message all the time now and cant play this game.
(The Instruction at "0x2408b229" referenced memory at "0x20420d70", The memory could not be "read"?????
WTF, sure enough I suffered a few stutter problems on my old rig, but to upgrade to new hardware only to be greeted with this?
Before the patch it used to restart my new rig but now this is all I get?
Tried the video settings in may different combinations but still no joy, if anyone has any ideas, please tell!

Hi Sunreva

Can't help you I'm afraid but you should consider yourself lucky! I have had this game for 3 weeks now and haven't been able to get past the prologue! It used to crash a few seconds into chapter one now it just crashes to a black screen......but at least the error code is different thanks to the latest patch.

just keep trying and trying, and try the fixes in the forums for different problems..I used to get crashes all the time, but I did a heap of things and it's fixed up now.

Thanks for the encouragement Shadow.
I have tried some of the fixes all I'm afraid to no avail. Besides I bought the game to play not to spend my spare time configuring my rig.

Hey peeps http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/typing.gif

Thanks for your encouragement as SHADOW put it! But I have tried everything, even the
(+mat_forcemanagedtextureintohardware 0)fix, which loads the game but locks up within 30+ seconds?
Anyhoo, just purchased a copy of NWN2 and i'm lovin it, so I can wait a little longer for a patch fix. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
