The Wall Street Journal is reporting that Electronic Arts and Ubisoft are holding talks after Ubisoft dismissed EA's acquisition of a near-20 percent stake in the French videogame maker as "hostile".
Back in December, Electronic Arts announced a purchase of shares of Ubisoft Entertainment. The investment represents approximately 20 percent interest in the company. At that time, Ubisoft said it will consider EA's investment as hostile until it got more information from EA.
"It's completely normal that the two should be talking; the Ubisoft management had mentioned this would happen," said Laurent Lamagnere, an analyst with CA Chevreux. "They don't mind talking, what they're more reluctant to do is to give EA a seat on the board."
