Forget any of the threads started by fans of past GR games.

As usual, UBI is going off and taking out everything we want and replacing it with things we never asked for.

The soldier will be "an f16 on legs". Really? Can you make it a little lamer please?

It sounds like the new GR will be a combination Quake Wars and Battlefield 2042.

Goodbye to another Tom Clancy inspired strategic and realistic FPS franchise...it was nice knowing you.

THIS x 100.000 and more.

After the DRM BS with SH5 and now this it is farewell to the Ubisoft games. Middle of the road BS games with no challenge whatsoever and a BS DRM system. Bleh.

'Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier'

TC means Total Crap these days, just a meaningless brand Ubi slaps on whatever they feel like, and this game is clearly marketed towards 12-16 year old console kids.

I have nothing against sci-fi or futuristic titles but its sad to see these franchises going that way, the market is saturated with 3rd person, sci-fi/futuristic shooters already.

FS will be just another one...

This is hard to hear but not all that surprising.

Yep, unfortunately, considering the available info, it looks like a total POS.

Lol...I would have responded sooner but my walker gut stuck on the way to turning on my 1200 baud modem.

After:

* Broken promises about SDK's
* Support being completely dropped for games less than 6 months after release
* Patches that only worked for 1 round because they weren't tested and never fixed
* Closed forums started with a "council" of dedicated players asked to provide suggestions only to have every suggestion ignored and UBI go a completely different route
* Ubi tech support resorting to hacker code to make a game work

I would say UBI owes us something for taking Tom Clancy games and instead of improving on them, alienating the fans by taking each franchise in a completely different direction than the orignal games.

All they are doing is making it so you have no idea what you are getting. We now have an incompatable mix of those that want the original most realistic and strategic FPS games, and those that want Halo style run n gun with respawns, magic health regen, 3rd person views, and power ups.

At least they don't have to waste time trying to balance weapons since there is only 1 gun! WTF?

TY, I wanted to make it easy to find the recipe for a good FPS game since the game companies appear to have lost it. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Unfortunatley, UBI is comprised of people that consistantly go in any direction other than what fans want.

How many Ghost Recon threads were created that asked for the game to be reduced to one gun, have a predator inviso-suit, and allow an exo-skeleton that allows faster speed and no weight limit to what you can carry?

Yep...0

Pffft but you get two guns if you include the drone and it's got 6-8 barrels so that's really 8-10 guns! Which I'm sure there will be a cover and protect the damaged drone so it can get to a safe location mission. Can't wait for it to get stuck on ridiculous waypoints all over the map. Plus a nice game stopping glitch where it cant maneuver through an alley making you constantly fail the mission.

Lol.. someone played and replayed and replayed Graw Single player..... I had forgotten about that one.

Anyways this is no longer GR. We all know the original got lost when GR2 was dropped for PC and was offered consul only. What the community has asked for is pretty clear and although they are not listening on this one hopefully someone from UBI logs into these forum someday and says whoa... We have an audience for a game all along all we have to do is build it... We will see but again like i have said I am taking a pass on this one. Hopefully since it looks like PC sales will be in the toilet they wont just stop making PC games.

Thanks to the moderators for staying out of these recent threads.

The "PC sales are a small percentage of total sales" issue is a self fullfilling prophecy.

As long as they make games that cater to mainstream console players, then those players will be the majority of sales.

There is nothing to stop them from making a game with a good hardcore mode that will satisfy the old school fans, but they won't do it or it will be too watered down to compare with dedicated hardcore games from the past.

In regards to the mods staying out of this, many of them want the same things we do. They just can't say it as much as they would like to or they won't be seen as good UBI employees.

It doesn't take much research looking through old posts to see what types of games Kimi and Ms K like...or at least used to like.

I've said over and over again since they screwed us with no GR2 (it was console only) that UBI would no longer be giving us a title that we would appreciate. It saddens me that I was correct (again) with the newest installment of "Ghost Recon". No, I won't be buying it. In fact, I haven't purchased an UBI title since GRAW1 (got it for 5 bux used, which will never happen again with new titles cuz of UBI's new DRM). I was given GRAW2 as a gift and it was close but as usual UBI gave the console kids all the upgrades and treated us computer gamers as red-headed step children.

I don't care if UBI ever produces another PC game. They're putting out garbage anyway. As long as there are other developers putting out (or attempting to) tac-sims I'll spend my money there. UBI can go to hell.

In fact, if you do a search of my recent posts you'll see the vast majority is in the Lock On forum, another title UBI abandoned. But since ED (the devs) kept the title alive people will invariably show up on UBI's forums to ask questions. This is the only reason I keep my account.

We're closet optimists with a masochistic side as well. Ubi being the abusive spouse who we keep going back to because his is the time they'll really change for good. Happy now? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif BTW a bit ironic you complain about people complaining about the game yet you dislike complainers. So you're expressing a deep rooted self hatred for yourself? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_confused.gif

Aww isn't he cute, 4 posts and now he's telling the rest of us what to do. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif

For your info son, I've been here on the Ghost Recon forums since before the creation date on this account (I have an older account than this). I'll post anywhere I decide to and if you don't like it you don't have to read it.

Wow! And I thought I was the only one worried about Ghost Recon.
I don't care much about the high-tech stuff, really. What I care about is that they maybe will transform this game in a mindless shooter like MW2. In the past GRAW games you had that nice sat view where you could plan before acting, like a real-time Rainbow Six.
And someone else said that Rainbow Six and Ghost Recon was about a small team getting on limited numbers of soldiers in a specific situation that need immediate action.
Now, I'm really afraid that they will transform this series in another Modern Warfare type of game, based that they transformed two hardcore games in arcade platforms (Silent Hunter and Splinter Cell).

Well i gave up with ubi since i play graw 1 i thought it was crap and the direction UBI are heading is towards the consol gamer arcade style unreal types of games set in the future when i think all the PC real GR fans are looking for the real GR 2 like the Orignal GR but upto date GFX real weather FX 4 possible Teams like the orignal but upto date.

i can only think UBI dont care about the PC gamer hey give them the consol port move onto the next game leave the game unsupported after a short time its all about the money they make from kids with consols sadly a bigger amount of people UBI really should stop making games i prey for that day to be soon as the little care and effort they put into the PC side and they never do a game anything close to what the pc gamer wants these days simply just dont buy the GAME it will be like GRAW but even worst more futuristic CRAP .

There is no need to worry, just need to be sad. It is MORE than Obvious this game is gonna be just another futuristic Run-and-Gun shooter. Oriented toward consoles with a purpose of generating maximum income. RIP GR.

You mean a futuristic lame senario kinda like a cross between BF2142 and Frontlines Fuel of War?

Me and many others agree with the criticism of many players here concerning the contentwise regression in the development and demand of new so-called Ghost Recon Games which even don't deserve this name anymore. We were all waiting for about 10 years for a true successor of the original Ghost Recon.

Many new and young users here don't realize that it is thanks to the support of the former community of the original Ghost Recon game that you can play GRAW and GR:FS now.

If you have experienced the original Ghost Recon game, its community and challenging leagues (compared to the complete lack in the actual titles), then you would understand what people are missing in the actual "sequels" and that Ubisoft doesn't care about it. To the contrary, the former cummunity has been ignored (or was there any new game released since then addressing the wishes of these players? No.).

The solution would be so easy for Ubisoft. Just re-release the original Ghost Recon with Desert Siege and Thunder Island (like before with included editor for modding, same complex gameplay and multiplayer options, same control feeling, playing in the present time) with some new content and up-to-date graphics and physics as well as a good anticheat protection (the only principal thing missing in GR1).

But I am just repeating myself each time http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

The end of the video just looked like Gears or Vegas, I'm not a fan of those cover systems, prefer peeking left/right. I played the original GR to death and was hoping for something a little closer to the game's roots.

Having said that I'd probably buy it for the single player campaign, but I'm guessing mp will be poor, hope they prove me wrong.
