1. I believe pressing the ~ key accesses the console, at what point should this be done as I have tried it at various stages from start up of the game to being in the game and nothing happens. 2. What are the various triangles etc around/in the HUD,which is the Impact Indicator? Thanks.

Hitting the tilde should drop down the green 1/2 screen called the console. You should be able to do that at any point from the main menu on.

The triangles are objects that are beyond the range of the radar. If you walk towards one it will resolve into a point as you get closer. Green is bad guys that do not know you are there, Orange means they are on the alert and red means they know where you are. White is Valerie. The bigger dot is your ojective.

Also, do not post the same question in two forums. I deleted the other one.

BTW, when he refers to the triangles being objects (ie troops) beyond radar, they appear as green triangles on the outer edge (circle) of the mini map.

The troops within the radar also appear as triangles when you are close enough (usually close enough to hear them), and you can tell which direction they are facing if you look closely at the mini map.

The impact indicator shows red stripes along the edge of the screen (monitor screen, not mini map) indicating the direction from which you were shot.

There is also an indicator that shows little (or big depending on distance)white circles on the mini map where gunfire or explosions are taking place. They sort of look like ripples in a pond, and I believe are satellite sonar images of loud sounds.

This is a very handy tool to pay attention to when the enemy has been alerted, but you have not yey tagged them with the binocs to see their location.

You can usually only rely on it being usfull that way when only one or two of several troops is left standing and they're frantically firing in a general direction without knowing exactly where you are.

One of the ways it is most usefull is when you have pretagged enemies at a fairly long distance, but can't see them through the dense jungle. At times like this, if there is a fixed mortar gun available nearby, you can watch where the mortars hit by the ripples, and use them to zero in on the tags.

Really gratefull lads, but the tilde key would not bring up the console (even after hitting it with a mallet).I eventually discovered that its that weird key to the left of the "1" key - what is that? - and above "Tab"

That weird key is the tilde key. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif

[edit] On US keyboards, at least.

Not on a UK keyboard, the tilde or ~ is next to the main enter...

The top left key has these on it ⬠` â¦
