To be honest I hope very shortly because i personally think Rainbow Six Lockdown, Vegas and Vegas 2 have been disasters. What ever happened to Rainbow Six 3 and Rainbow Six 3: Black Arrow. These two games have been by far the best rainbow six games on the xbox. Ubisoft should re-release the game but with improved graphics, new storyline and more weapons etc...

Too bad they don't have it on PS3...

Here's what they SHOULD do, bring back some old maps like border town and vegas library, and give us the snow map from the 1st level of the campaign and patch up the bugs, and finally add 1 new gun from each category and touch up all the guns and make em look like new. This would take a while but itd make this game perfect ore atleast very close

I don't know about that. I played those games with the original scenarios on the PC. So with the new graphics I was very curious and I was also waiting for that and Black Arrow on the PS2 platform... until I found out it was exclusively the XBOX system... That really dissappointed me!!!

Well, technically, when that changes UBI will release an exclusive to some web site and then the community will post in these forums.
I have yet to see a case where the forums get the announcement first (from an UBI rep) or simultaneously with the news getting out somewhere else.

In the Raven Shield days, they let the forums get all the announcements first. As a moderator they used to let me do the honors sometimes. Those days have long gone.

I used to be a big fan of anything Tom Clancy and Ubisoft, especially Rainbow Six.
After playing Rainbow Six games for the past decade including both RBS:V games, both G.R.A.W games as well as the games from the OG Box, the Splinter Cell series, Assassins Creed and Endwar I have called it quits on this company just as they called it quits on the customer.
So many broken or ridiculous achievements and game play has got me looking to spend my money elsewhere. This company doesn't care about quality anymore. Look no further than the poor support shown for fixing multiple bugs in Rainbow Six Vegas for proof.
Do us a favor Ubisoft, quit making games and leave it to the companies that will continue to support their products for more than a year after release.

not really. don't get me wrong i'd be at the night launch if another R6 came out tomorrow. I've been a dedicated R6 fan since the Dreamcast version and have since owned
R63
R63 BA
R63 Lockdown
R63 Critical Hour
R6 Vegas I
R6 Vegas II
But without any support for Vegas II or any new maps, the game has been put on the back burner. So yes COD MW has taken R6 to a new level. A lot of the gameplay in COD MW plays like R6 Vegas. Not excactly the same so don't take that out of context, but very similiar. And dang sure a good game to play until another R6 (hopefully old school like R6 BA with clan matches)!!!

Oh I remember it! Basically Lockdown, but mainly MP and co-op, the SP was just a mishmash of missions from older games.
The worst thing about it: it was the one where John Clark was packing up and retiring, and Ding was taking his place as Six. WHAT?! Devastating news.
There were a few good points about Lockdown/CH but not many. LOL At least they had Team Survival as separate game types, unlike Vegas 2.
I'm ready for a new Rainbow, had about a year of fun out of Vegas in team survival, but they need to redeem themselves again in MP and quit with the ridiculous unlock/rank system they essentially started with Lockdown.

I wonder why?
Maybe it's because they don't play at all like any previous RB6 games? Because they dumbed them down to suit the "average" gamer? Nah...

I am in complete agreement with the other user here that said that Ubisoft is wrecking all their game franchises. R6 was about CQB tactics, putting your plan together, and executing it like a professional with a modest team of 8 operators. It has now become a nonstop action fps where 3 guys can take on an army of Mexican mercenaries invading Las Vegas 24 style.
Then, Mr Beland decided to take his fondness of 24 over to Splinter Cell and put the target marking system from R6V into the game, and base everything around that mechanic. Now Sam Fisher, once a modern day ninja, is a mass murderer with JB powers, again, with a story that might as well be from 24.
Ghost Recon started playing with the future warrior stuff, and now they feel they can't go back, so now we keep going farther and farther into the future with 'theoretcial' prototype equipment like cloaking systems and shoulder mounted rockets.
Endwar and HAWX came out after the crash started, and therefore never really had a chance.
Ubisoft, how about you go kick Mr. Clancy in the nuts a few time to add injury to insult.
To be on topic a bit more, I really think (but doubt Ubi will care) that the next R6 needs to come full circle and revamp the planning phase of the game.
The planning phase could be streamlined quite a bit to make it a more user friendly system. Full 3d mapping could be put into effect, and accessories like Natal could hypothetically be used to manipulate the map without a controller. Think like a interactive version of MW1's loading screen for the cargo ship level, where you get a heat signature for the enemies and civilians.
You should get a full insertion sequence, like you do in R6V or COD:MW. There could be cool insertions like the one described in the book where Bear had to keep forward motion while dropping the assault team on the roof. The insertion spots have never been too flexible in the old games, maybe 2 choices, and each choice could have a different insertion sequence.
I think playing special missions, like a version of the intro to the book where they take down the airplane hijackers would be cool as well. You don't get to plan, you have limited resources, and you are thrown into a hostile situation. That would give the Halo and MW players their adrenaline fix. Imagine you are Ding in civilian clothes at a bank in Hereford with your wife, and 10 tangos come in with subguns. Your piece is in your car because you don't want to freak people out in a bank, so you are unarmed. And that's how the mission starts. I don't know, I just think it could be interesting
Last, you should be able to do a 8 man coop through the campaign (minus any special sequences like described above), where you split up into your different elements and play through. If you have less than 8 guys, a player's place is taken by AI, controlled by the team leader for squad commands. Coop should be available on 4 player splitscreen, across 2 xbox's with 4 players each, on live with 4 players per xbox if desired, etc.
I see this as all being completely possible with the current level of technology, but the game devs keep wanting to take the simple, easy way out. A game should be seen as a work of art, not simply a money grab. I really feel that game devs have lost that now that video games are in the mainstream.

the sad thing is in 10 days there will no longer be R63BA to play. The all time best xbox shooter will be dead!
All regular xbox games will die as of April 15th 2010. I guess i'll have to use XBConnect http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif If it works!

I stand to disagree. Ravenshield was the 3rd R6 game, and it was basically just a graphical and AI upgrade to the previous games.
I think that the console versions are what created the current problem we have now. R6:3 for Xbox was the first R6 game that didn't give you a full planning mode, and limited the team to a fixed cast of 4 guys. At that point, rather than being a tactical simulation, it started coming closer to a squad shooter. BA, CH, and LD all followed this same basic formula. Then the Vegas team decided that fighting against random terrorists wasn't enough, and pitted the player against unbelievable odds with just 3 operators taking on an army that is invading Las Vegas, and it turns out to be a cheap betrayal plot.
If Ubi had done what it did with R63 and Ravenshield, then the original R6 fans would still be happy. By this I mean instead of porting the console version to the PC, port the PC version to the console, either with or without the full planning portion of the game that made the series unique.

Doesnt change the fact that the first two games were the only ones considerably better then the console versions. Not everyone just plays campaign or thunt, there are just as many adversarial players who couldn't care less about the old planning phase. The planning phase was huge but limiting it was hardly a deal breaker for most. Yeah,V1 was barely tolerable and V2 was just bad lol. They seriously just need a new team on R6 because the current one just isnt cutting it.The problems with online and the many lacking areas in V2 were just simply unacceptable.Im sure its not all their fault with not having enough time and budget but they put no real effort in V2.Also porting isnt the way it should be,doesnt matter what its for. Each platform should be developed at the same time for its specific platform while keeping them the same, with the exception of the obvious things that need to be different.Too bad they didnt think like this before.

The problem with how the devs treat the single player directly affects the adversarial multiplayer. Take the new SC game for example. The critically acclaimed Spies V Mercenaries mode will not be making a return, as a direct result of the gameplay changes made in the single player mode. The dev team wants their 'cool' new features to be seen in all aspects of gameplay, so either the multiplayer or single player (or both) must suffer the consequences.
R6:RS/R6:3 were, in my opinion the best for the multiplayer experience. It was only after those games that Ubi took R6 (and their other franchises) down the dark path of trying to suit the 13 year old Halo player more than the Clancy fans.
It is the basic vision of the devs that will make the next R6 game or break it. If the devs come to the table with the vision of making a tactical shooter based on a Tom Clancy universe where there isn't regenerating health, unrealistic guns, and excess ammunition, then both the single player and multiplayer will be what we expect from a R6 game. If however, they keep riding the bandwagon of making the game appeal to the social/casual gamer that just wants the quick Halo/COD adrenaline rush for quick dm games, then we will get more of the same garbage that Ubi has been churning out lately. We can all look forward to the pink camo tank tops and people no scoping with sniper rifles in CQB...

First three, and they are the only ones worth playing.
From Lockdown on they've all been crap. I don't consider any of those Rainbow Six games.

I didnt say that one couldnt affect the other but I dont see where the planning phase being removed affects adversarial.I was simply saying it didnt matter to a lot of people. The whole SC thing is screwed up for the same reason R6 got changed with V1.I wont say his name because it will get me in trouble lol.Games have a habit of drastically changing around him.
