I think they could have done better with this game just like everybody else, but its not bad. The system performance is not great and as I was playing to day I realized something. I keep getting shot because I'm having trouble aiming. It seems that the mouse movement is a little jittery, not as smooth as most games where accuracy and speed counts. You know why? Because it was meant to be used with a 360 controller as well! We all know mice are far more precise when it comes to aiming that a friggin console controller, so anybody know a fix? Maybe smoother mouse aiming mod or something?

eeerrr, adjust the mouse speed setting in the game's OPTIONS http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-tongue.gif

Negative. Tried it and still the same. When I move the mouse very slowly I can actually see it skip a small amount of space as it moves. (most games you can't see the skipping because it moves very smooth)

I notice the same. I'm getting killed because I can't aim as exact as I can in CS:S.

My god, what has this game become when people mention CounterStrike like it is something a Tom Clancy game should be compared to. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif

most FPS's use a spherical grid that you snap to when moving the mouse, i dont know if the mouse sensitivity settings in options change the size of this grid or not, its fine to be honest because you should be zoomed in for distance shots( where the grid makes hitting a distanced target difficult )
*EDIT* Just checked, only the "Mouse Sensitivity" setting on 1 gets rid of the grid, which is cool with a G5 acutally http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

I just tried it on mouse sens 1 and its very smooth, I love it, but its not quick enough lol. I wonder if there is a way to make it that smooth but not snap to grids like that?

yep, there is, get a logitech G5 or G7 mouse, you can switch the DPI with buttons on the mouse, handy for going from sniping to just running around killin http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

they are nice but the g 7 has been known to sap fps in some games.. the Razer Copperhead has dpi adjust buttons as well as a combo button and scroll option for more precise tuning which is what I use... I'd also recommend the exact mat mouse pad by Razer as well

I know this sounds odd, but it worked for me. For the guy with the skippy mouse and some FPS problems out there. First let me state the obvious--LCD's were not made for gaming. They were for office people with little room on their desk--O.K. off the soapbox.LOL-- Problem is they have native resolutions and refresh rates. I on the other hand saw this problem in GRAW, went to local pawn shop, bought a used 17 inch AOC CRT (read monitor) Ok, so this may still work for you LCD's too. Monitors have not stayed the course with the growth of PC and video leaps that we have experienced. So if you have your display manager set to show only modes of refresh that you can produce, you may be sadly mislead. Ok, not to date myself, but way back you had a choice, it was either 60hz or 100hz that was all. Nowadays you have a plethora of options. Keep this in mind multiples of sixty are the most friendly to a 4:3 type monitor. When I got a little tweaker prog for my ATI X1600 pro AGP 512mb card I was able to bypass the native game refresh of 60hz, told it to match my desktop running at 120 hz and voila!!!FPS increase of 20 and super accurate shots (read mouse refreshrate adjusted) Just a shout to all , hope this was informative. Know that your 900$ HD monitor may be the problem.LOL------SST4Life!!!

Has anybody with a Logitech G7 been able to use all of the buttons? if so, do you mind showing this Noob how? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-mad.gif

Jittery mouse is usually the mouse PAD. Assuming you are using an optical mouse.

I have one. Install the logitech software and set up the different buttons in the logitech software to mimick regular keyboard keys. Then go into the game and you can set up those keys to do things in the game.

this is definitely "strange".. that's as nice as I can put it.. now I will have to argue with a few points, but I would be very glad if you could provide some links backing up your claims asI have never heard these theories..
1) You can't say "LCD's aren't meant for gaming" because that is assuming that CRT monitors were "made for gaming". CRT technology (TVs) has been around for ages (almost 100 years I think). CRT Computer Monitors were never "made" for gaming.. the technology advanced to the point where we have super high resolutions, with super high refresh rate capabilities. LCD's were not "made for office workers". They were made primarily for laptops. If LCD technology would have never surfaced, laptops would never be a posibility. LCD's (about 3 years ago) were not as "impressive" for use with gaming due to the very high response times for pixels to refresh. Nowadays, LCD's response time is to the point that no one can notice the plaguing problem of "ghosting". I would NEVER go back to CRT gaming after being on a LCD. My roomate has pretty much the same specs as I have but he has a CRT. (His CRT is the P225F by Viewsonic.. a monstrous professional CRT capable of zany resolutions.) I used to think his CRT was very vibrant and sharp. NOTHING beats a LCD when it comes to sharpness when it is in the native resolution, and no CRT out there has been able to display such vibrant colors. One thing CRT does have the advantage over is Color accuracy. LCD's still can't display color as "correct" as a CRT.. but I don't notice the difference much myself since I am not doing professional media work on my pc.
2. As far as the Native resolution and refresh rate is concerned, LCD's have a lower refresh rate because the screen no longer refreshes line by line like a CRT monitor. It's all about the response time of the pixel's Liquid Crystal charging up and "shuttering" a pixel that goes from black to lit, to black. All LCD's have a "refresh rate" of 60Hz or 75Hz (some have things in between). But the refresh rate is no longer a real "refresh rate" like a CRT is. It is no longer done line by line, therefore refresh rate is not as big of a deal as it is in CRT's. They also have native resolutions due to the fact that LCD's are measured in pixels, and the native resolution is the number of vertical and horizontal pixels there are. This value cannot be changed. Unlike CRT's that display lines and can change the amount of "pixels" it can show, a LCD only has a fixed amount of pixels. You cannot force your LCD to do a higher refresh rate than it is rated to do. You CAN however force your frames to "cap" to 120 if you prefer.
3. Every CRT I have used since 1997 has had the ability for 60/72/75 and in later years (2000 and beyond) I had the option for 85/100 along with the others.
4. Your increase in frames when you up the refresh rate sounds like V-sync which makes perfect sense. I would recommend turning triple buffering on since your card has 512M of ram, and force v-sync off. That will give you the max frames you can get without texture tearing.
I currently have a 19" LCD and have no problems with a "jittery" mouse. I have a MX1000 and currently have my mouse sensitivity down to 2. My mousing surface is a ratzpad GS. When I slowly move my mouse, it moves perfectly with my movement.

Thanks Pest_AWC, I will give that a try but I may have to bother you through a PM for more info if you don't mind... sometimes, I can be very dense for some things. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

I think what he ment was adjust the X and Y sensitivity not the mouse.
When set to 10 the grid seems to be large meaning as you move the mouse very little the crosshairs move alot alot. At 2-3 the grid is quite small and for me that seems perfect. The crosshair seems to move the same distance as my mouse. Yes you have to physically move the mouse more but the accuracy is way better.

Do you all turn off mouse acceleration altogether? I have a logi MX500, with grid set to 2 and accel set to low. Seems ok, though now you all have me thinking maybe I should play with the settings.

Turning sensitivity down to 1 definitely helps on my MX518 mouse. Still get random stutters in game though...which pretty much ruins the whole game. And why should I not be able to compare this game to CS:S? It's a FPS, is it not? If it is indeed an FPS, then it should feel like an FPS and allow the player to aim properly and not feel like there's constant lag.
