Here's my story:
My parents won't let me get the game unless I rent it first so that they can make sure that it's not some bloody, violent game. Fair enough. However, when I went to Blockbuster today to rent the game, the only copy at the store had been rented by a kid who actually went right up to the lady working there and said, "Sorry, but it's cheaper to rent this game and never return it than to buy it, so that's what I'm going to do." So this punk just legally "stole" the only copy that Blockbuster has of SCCT, and the next copy they ordered won't be here until JUNE!!!!! I swear, if you were the one who did this, your selfish actions have not only cost me the game, but it's also taken the game away from a lot of others, people who don't stoop as low as you. So try hollywood video or another blockbuster in your area ... or maybe you can go to a game store with your mom and they'll let you show your mom what the gameplay is like.

I must say though, I feel your anger about that little punk *blank* kid.

I'm glad someone actually doesn't think this is funny. I can go to Hollywood, but I have to wait a week or two, no other blockbusters in town have it and my parents saw the demo and they still demand to see the game! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/cry.gifand yes, I've shown them almost every vid available.

Wow you must live in a small town .. there are like 4 blockbusters within 5 miles of my house lol.

Not sure what else to tell you except .. how about this? Implore them to buy the game for you ... let them see some of the action. If they feel it's not appropriate for you (which is unlikely), they can return the game for a full refund within X amount of days http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif I don't see any reasonable game store out there that wouldn't allow a parent to do that for an M rated game.

If that failed then that wouldn't slim his chances to zero for getting his parents approval for Chaos Theory. I'd get emancipated. The game is that good.

Just tell them the point of the game is to NOT get seen, much less kill people. Tell'em you're supposed to stick to the shadows and sneak past the guards. That's not violent at all.

Wouldn't work. The other games were rates T, and SCCT is M. If I were the parents, I'd want to know why.

this is a very big rabit trail, but what is the "strong langauge" like? has it got a "green day" tye feel or jsut a SC1 type feel?

The original punk, if Blockbuster's "No Late Fee's" deal works, will have to pay for the sale price of a Chaos Theory along with a "restocking fee of 1 dollar and 20 something cents." So unless he provided a fake credit card/billing address in order to obtain a Blockbuster card, he'll still be paying for it.

Just hope the Blockbuster justice system works out A-OK

well if it is a kid renting it then it is most likely his parents account he did it on and if the system does work like u say AKrajun then hopefully his parents will at the least catch it on the next credit card statement whenever blockbuster gets around to detrming that it aint coming back.

Blockbuster uses a collection agency if you don't return a game/movie after about two attempts to contact you by mail asking for the full price of the game and the restocking fee.

This means whoevers account he was authorized to rent on, and Blockbuster requires you check ID and make sure the both the account information is accurate and the person is an authorized user of the account, is going to find something on their credit if they dont pay for the game.

Bad move for him, actually.
