The M2 .50BMG (Have shot a commerical .50BMG bolt action, but its just not the same!)

MP5SD (Supressors are a no-no in my home state) http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

AI .338 Lapua Magnum on a 1500 yard range.

Sig P210.. THE most amazingly smooth and accurate 9mm on the planet.. (and wayyyyy out of my price range)

select fire Steyr AUG. (The only truly effective bullpup rifle out there)

Those are my choices.

Good list, Haven't shot a .50 myself (legal to buy one in my state, but illegal to shoot it, doesn't make much sense). You got to find some way to shoot the MP5SD (I think there are a few private gun ranges that have some dealer samples to shoot, I believe Select Fire in Maryland may be one of them), just don't use standard 9mm ammo, it ends up being louder than you would expect. The subsonic ammo is what keeps it whisper quiet as advertised.

The big .50 is a lot of fun. I shot an L.A.R. Grizzly and the felt recoil was less than my 590 12 gauge shotty with slugs. The *push* that shoves your shoulder back a good 6" was fun though. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_eek.gif http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

There is an indoor range/gunshop a few hours east of me that rents out class III toys which I believe includes an MP5SD.. I just haven't gotten over that way... I think its only $20 an hour to rent the guns... but the ammo you've got to buy is what kills your wallet. LOL http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif

Honestly I doubt I'll ever shoot an AUG....THey are just so dang rare....That and now that I've thought about it more... A Sig 550...Ahhh...

All the weapons I should say. But, I'm still into airsoft. Just got my M4. Very, very, very, very good gun. I am really hoping you guys get into airsoft. Good Exercise and practice your tactics and stealthness. Fun stuff. Fun stuff. â§_⧠_â§_

Airsoft? I've tried paintball, and that was a alot of fun. Is airsoft the same thing?

Airsoft is way better than paintball I think so. Airsoft is something what shoots out plastic bb's. The gun's come realistic and very powerful. They come in different types. Springs, gas, electric. I prefer springs for a beginner. Get used to the airsoft guns. Gas may be the most powerful out of all of them. I have 1 of those and a Electric. Me electric is mmost powerful out of them.

How do you know when you have hit someone, and I guess you wear protective suits?

krepler
11-11-2004, 08:17 AM
Well, you don't have to but you can if your scared of getting welts. But if you do wear protective stuff you can hear it hit.

NapalmFrog
11-11-2004, 11:32 AM
and if you don't wear the right kit, u'll get hurt and want a break anyways... so more incentive not to get hit than paintball http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

They are all definitely powerful. If you like firearms with a lot of punch you probably like the S&W 500, and the Desert Eagle 50 A.E.
If you haven't tried them then you should. I'm somewhat of a power/recoil junkie myself, and these two definitely help fuel the addiction.

The 454 Casull isn't bad either. It punches a clean hole through quite a bit of metal plating.

I live in Australia and so i wont be able to fire a decent rifle (by this a mean fire a military rifle not a marksman/shooting as a sport rifle) until i join the army. Which will be about 3 years and counting! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

The 500 S&W Magnum is a ***** cat. I just shot one last week. It was the 8" (or is it 8 3/8" or some annoying number like that?) barrel with the compensator. The frickin' revolver is so HUGE and heavy it hardly kicks. In comparison my 6.5" 629 .44 Mag kicks much harder. Stings my shooting hand with full power loads. lol http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Now the .454 casull on the other hand... I agree with ya there.. That cartridge is WILD. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Your absolutely right that the S&W 500 with the monster barrel is a ***** cat, but have you shot the one with the 4" barrel? It feels more like the 454, than the big heavy standard 500, or the even bigger and heavier 500 with the hunting barrel. Make sure you use the 440 grain magnum rounds, the stats are amazing! 2,580 ftlbs or energy!

Still, if you love the craziness, then you should try the 44mag air lite (or I think thats what it was called) a guy I ran into at the range let me shoot it in turn for me letting him shoot my glock 24. I think that was the gun that had the most recoil out of anything that I have shot to this day.

M700VS

Have only handled the 4", never fired. Would love to try it though.

A real treat (or punishment if you prefer to think of it that way) is a lightweight snubnose with full power 158gr .357 magnum loads.. I've heard they are quite nasty..

I'm looking forward to my new fun gun this week...A Yugo M48 Mauser. A fairly short barrel and steel buttplate shooting 200gr hot loaded military ball ammo. That 'ought to bruise the hell out of my shoulder. Will be fun regardless. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif

I've seen those at the gun shops, but I have not run into anyone yet that has one. I just can't see myself buying one, so I'll have to wait until I run into someone at a range so I can shoot it.

I can't believe how small they are. You could easily have one around your ankle, but I'm not sure how practical they would be for multiple targets.

Have fun w/ the Mauser, just don't forget to get some ice packs ready. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

IF you haven't tried it already, go for the 3" magnum slugs through a Benelli, or Fabarm semi auto. Unload the beast as fast as you can. I can seriously say that it was almost as fun as the 308 G3 full auto that I shot.

I picked up that Mauser this morning.. Thought I'd share.

Nice. I have a friend that is into AK's, SKS's, Mauser's, etc... I've lit up quiet a few items with his Mauser. Good punch, goes right through "bullet proof" glass.

I want to sell my Ruger, stainless 7:mm Magnum so I can buy a 300 Ultra Mag.

I need that extra 200-300 yds so I can start bringing down some of those far ranging Bull Elk that sit just out of range and laugh at me.

I get that rig and they will laugh no more.

What rifles are you thinking about? DPMS 300 Saum? AR10(T) Ultra? Winchester Model 70?

Whatever you buy please quite the laughter, its keeping my up at night. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Leep -

I would steer clear of the .300 Ultra Mag.. Remington has had terrible luck with thier new *wonder mags* lately and they will probably die out.. Leaving you with no ammo. Probably could handload for a while.. but I don't know about availability of cases even.

If you want a really big .30.. Go all out get a 30-378 Wby Mag. Thats the biggest and baddest .30 caliber you can buy. Factory ammo is about $85-$90 for a box of 20 though.

Have fun digger. The old big bores are always a fun shoot.

I have to say that I'm surprised that not a lot of people are listing M16s, full auto AKs, etc... I guess more people in these forums have shot these guns than I realise. I figured that a forum for a game like GR would have a lot of people that have already shot many auto weapons, but I still thought there would be a good number of people who had not had a chance to shoot them yet.

Believe it or not the only time I have fired the M16 was in the Army cadets when I was 13! We had 3 x 10 rounds on semi-auto at the Northam army camp. Even though I was 13 the M16 was extremely easy to handle and I remember thinking my mates .22 had more recoil! On the down side it didn't "feel" like a real rifle, very light... felt like a toy. I was a member of a rifle club back then and was used to .22, .222, .243 bolt actions and shottys for clay pigeons.

I was a reservist in the early 90's and used the SLR L1A1 and even though at that time the regs used the F88 Austeyr and had been for a few years I never did get to fire one... cleaned a few though.

Speaking of cleaning, one of my favourite jobs was in the armoury cleaning the weapons... yeah, yeah doesn't sound to good but I knew it would be as close as I ever would get to any of these weapons so enjoyed it none the less http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

In the armoury they had all sorts of weapons and a lot that shouldn't have been there! Believe it or not our drivers, I was in an artillery unit, carried F1's!!! Yep... in the early 90's!!! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif

Hey WGC-ReCoN, where is this place? I could not find a place on the site where the address was listed.

The video was nice. I like the .50 cal. Have not shot one yet. Its illegal to shoot one in my state. I never drive more than 45 minutes to shoot, so I might just have to find a place to get a few rounds of .50 off one day.
