Ten combat aircraft, which airmen from the Russian Knights and Swifts piloted, flew above Red Square in a "pyramid" formation, departing into a so-called steep climb ((GORKA)). With the aid of special smoke generators, they painted a colored design in the sky, and on completion of the parade, painted the sky with the tri-color Russian flag.

Russian Knights and Swifts Fly over Red Square

The spectacular part of the Russia Day holiday is the airshow. Combat airplanes flew in the skies over Red Square for the first time in almost 50 years. Ten MiG-29 and Su-27 airplanes, which aces from the Russian Knights and Swifts aerobatic teams flew, lifted off from the Moscow suburb airport of Chkalovskiy.

In only 20 minutes, they appeared in the sky above Red Square - having flown over Leningrad Chausee and Tverskaya Street. The airmen demonstrated the mastery in the "pyramid" formation with a pull out into a steep climb ((GORKA)).

Why don't they use planes ready to be scrapped?

then losing 1 would not be so bad /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif
