How do you patch Single Player Game?

Ok! I can't seem to find out how to patch the single player game. I did not install the Multiplayer part during installation and have no interest in playing the multiplayer part of the game. Solo gameplay is what I like to play. Now I have never installed the so called "steam" thing before that I see other peeps refering to, so now: I am oblidged to install the multiplayer and register with steam even if I NEVER EVER intend to play with other peeps on servers? WTF? I don't understand that I a would be forced into installing another 5-6 Gigs of software on my comp if I am never gonna use it?

So how the heck do I patch the game then??? Any help would be much appreciated..

The game will keep update by itself.
However, if you wish to check if there is file missing. You can right click the DM and select the property -> varify game cache
It will check and d/l the files u missed
