And sorry if what I type is fast or short. I've been getting used to D&D PBP, so half the time I expect myself to listen to the DM say what I see, then remember it's up to me.

Actually, Chess, it is Ten. Eight was the first one we did together, nine was the one you and Achenar started, so this is Ten. I'm going to start a new topic just to avoid confusion. I meant to do that yesterday when I started everything else, but got hurried and forgot.

I am getting used to work again, so my answers may be a bit more rushed these days than we're all used to.

Lots of things have changed with me since I started reading certain webcomics.

For instance, to me, "randomness" means "random TGing". Hey, that gives me an idea...

Okay, here's a bit of random fact.

Ahem.

When I first got the Taser in the last MH, it was an actual taser.
Then someone reminded me we weren't supposed to take any technology that Myst/Riven wouldn't have (one wonders about the Jedia lightsabers and Marae's floaty laughy trick), so it became a dagger with the word "Taser" written on it.
A bit later, I decided I didn't want to be carrying a deadly weapon around and the dagger turned out to be only a letter opener.
Even later, when Tora became a witch, the Taser morphed into a broom via spellcasting.
Now, Tora can swithc it between broom and dagger/letter opener, although no garentee that it will be a dagger or letter opener when it isn't a broom. That part seems to be random whenever she changes it back from being a broom. But it is a nice broom. Silver bristles, chrome handle with blue lightning etched on it, and that blue sapphire on the top/pommel. And, of course, "Taser" written down the side. Taser has become its name.

Now for the really fun part. Originally (after the Taser became a letter opener that is) the Taser was going to become something else entirely. This was before the witches entered the story and Tora needed a broom.

It was going to be a letter opener, that when you rubbed the sapphire, a jinn popped out. The jinn could grant as many wishes as we needed, but only when we were all wishing together for the same thing. I had a phrase for that - what was it? Something about him only being a junior level and only able to grant wishes on a "popular demand" basis I think.

But the jinn idea got trashed when it turned out Tora needed a broom, and the dagger became a broom instead of a magic letter opener with a genie-of-the-jewel inside the sapphire.

Now how's that for a random MH fact?

I should have a spell to turn powertools into pudding, but its the translating that gets me. It doesn't always translate out of Old English into rhyme, so I need to change it around a bit...

marae, sometimes when programs are finished with a task (loading, checking for updates, ect.) they will maximize so you know they are done. The trouble is knowing what they were doing in the first place.

Well, it gave me no clue. Thing is, I have my e-mail program on almost all the time, and although I have noticed it maximize spontaneously once in awhile, I always thought it was something I had unwittingly done.

Today I was nowhere near the controls, proof positive that it is doing this on its own.

It was eerie.

I have an idea: why don't we use this thread for a sort of "MH Bloopers" place?

CK slams the sledgehammer into the chainsaw and... the hammer head shatters! Grey Tasho pulls the chaisaw free and begins revving it again as CK blubbers over the loss of his sledgehammer. Tora wonders aloud "Would now be a good time to make up that fix it spell?"

"CUT!!!" yells the director.

I was trying to come up for a spell to turn people and things invisible. Which really won't help Ra'phil, who needs the opposite, but it was fun.

Anyway, I've got a better and shorter one that works. But here's one that I ditched.

Due to that unfortunate last word there, however, I'd probably end up turning people into vapor. I don't want to pass anyone off as gas, so this spell got cut.

Deleted Scene

Tora swooped and twirled through the air on her broom. The artillary down there weren't even getting near her with those whipped cream cannons! In fact, they kept shooting each other as she flew around between them.

Tora snickered, then had an idea. Rising just out of range of the cannons, which infuriated the guards to no end, she took a moment to come up with a good spell.

With that she hit 'play' on her mp3 player (and made sure to take the earphones out of her ears, very hastily).

And then Tora began dive-bombing the cannons, the fierce strains of "Ride of the Valkyries" accompanying her flight!
