This is my mod to have a realistic damage for rainbow six vegas. I have done many tests so is balanced with common sens and logic. This is the 4 version.

README
-Increased damage and effective range of all weapons. handguns and machineguns have less effective range respect rifles so have less penetration on long distance.
-damage depend to caliber in order from less to more powerful
cal.9 (92FS, Glock18, MP5N, MP7A1, SubMP9,MAC11)
cal.40 (USP40)
cal 45 (MK23, UMP45) e cal.5.7x28mm (p90) I put the same damage.
cal.50AE (deserteagle)
cal.44 (raging bull)
5.56 (M8, AUGA3, 552Commando, G36C, MTAR21, Famas, MK46, G36, 249SPW) extremely lethal and can kill a man with protections.
7.62 (SCARHCQC, G3KA4,AK47, 21E, PSG1, M40A1, SV98, ScoutTactical) the most of the times lethal to first shot.

shotguns more powerful:
XM26LSS from short distance lethal but it have less effective range.
SPAS is exelent and even a good range too.
m3 less powerful but a good effective range.
870MCS more powerful than m3 and good range too.

INSTALLATION:
1)copy and paste "KellerWeaponsConfig" in "PC" folder in C:\Programmi\Ubisoft\Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas\KellerGame\Config\PC or another directory I don't know. In italian version is that.

say yes to ovewrite file.

Instructions.
Mod works in single player and multy player if you are the host.
Isn't necessary that clients have this mod too.

nice this looks good, ill install it later.

although i think that the mp7 should be more powerful because it is a rifle round. but im no gun expert

Are larger rounds necessarily more lethal than smaller ones? What about bullet travelling speed? Faster bullets would hurt more wouldn't they?

yes, you are right. I have mistake. It uses a different caliber similar to 5.56. sorry but all weapons are now very lethal even 9mm so isn't a big problem. I'll fix it in a future version.

yea ok, its just mp7 is my faveroute weapon on vegas so i didnt want it as the weakest weapon http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

It is an evolutions not a final version. It's a big work and is better than the original damage, now is more similar to real life. of course some weapon with minor caliber could have more travelling speed and range. It became a little complicated to me know every statistic and comparate every weapons. In next versions I'll do further improve.

It isn't weak. trust me. It is weak in the original game not with this mod.

Don't warry soon in version 5 I correct even this. I think mp7 can do the same damage like p90. what do you think?

If you wanted to make a real weapon damage mod you could go to a place like worldguns or wikipedia, look up the weapons, and base damage on statistics there.

The MP7 fires a 4.6mm round, not 9mm. The P90 fires a 5.7mm round which is nothing like a .45. Both are basically miniture 5.56mm Nato rounds, aimed at armor penetration but have little actual impact, almost no recoil as well.

I have only mistake with mp7 I said before. I have understood it use 4.6mm. I write all the weapons caliber in the first post as you see.
I have yet made reserchs on internet even in wikipedia and knew yet before many about weapons. I have yet write I havn't made this mod witouth a sense. DURING A RESERCH I READ P90 IS SUPERIOR, IT HAVE A MORE EFFECTIVE RANGE AND POWER THEN OTHERS MACHUNEGUNS LIKE MP5, UMP45. SO BECOUSE OF 45 IS A POWER CALIBER P90 USE 5.7 MM THAT HAVE MORE PENETRATION I DECIDED TO GIVE THE SAME DAMAGE.I don't know if is best improve the damage of 45 respect p90. Remember this is a game and I mod it. I can make this game more realistic in the limits of the game. I have made many tests for example finding the correct value to kill a man in the game without protections etc. I must create a new videogame if I want have a perfect totally realistic game in all aspects. So it's yet a good improvement respect the original damage that isn't very correct, to kill a man shoting on chest are necessary 5 shots or more and consider for example the damage of submachineguns similar to heavymachineguns, is ridicolous. It's to difficult make a weapon in the game identic like the real weapon. I try to make realistic as I can. but if I improved i must change other values so is better for now let this kind of damage similar for this type of caliber. 5.7mm 4.6mm and cal 45.

IF it's on the server. I thought PB checks those files for clients. If not, it should in the future. Unless of course, the devs made a patch and client-side modding does not supercede server-side modding now.

I try if I am the client I have no problem. make a beckup copy of the original file for any problems.

I will put this mod on one of our dedicated servers to test it out. We have punkbuster currently disabled because we can't get it to stop randomly kicking everyone, and also it crashes the server at random times. Very frustrating so we are waiting for the 1.05 patch if it ever gets here.
