Be really nice if a GRIN rep can chime in on this topic. Few questions about the anticheat being used in GRAW2.

Is there going to be file checks on stock files? Is there going to be scanning for cheat files? Scanning for injectors? Memory scans? Live updates or at least a decent turnaround time for new updates? An anticheat team to support the game?

Anything the server admin can configure to check for known hacks? Are there going to be server logs with name/ip/guid of players that join the server? Basically, anything an active admin can do to protect his own server?

Is there going to be a guid which we can ban? Or we stuck with IP banning?

Any info would be appreciated

Replays are the best anti-cheat.

This is one of the most influential factors for buying a game in my opinion. I would also like to know what GRIN will do with this.

I don't understand why Ubisoft integrates Punkbuster for Rainbow Six, but not for Ghost Recon? Even Lockdown had PB and that was a total flop of a game. Vegas flopped too. Why not GRAW 2? IMO, GRAW 2 will probably be the best Ubi title released since Raven Shield. If it hits big time, there will be people out there tempted to cheat.

it IS weird. lockdown and vegas are horrible, each in this own way (vegas was a terrible port in it's online department. LD was just plain bad game) and they got PB.

GRAW2's demo looks very promisin! no PB http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif
in GRAW2 i do see occations where players are kicked for altered game files but i heard of a lot of other ppl who encountered cheaters online. apparently GRIN's protection system ain't that good...

Obviously there will always be cheaters in MP games. Even PB doesnt stop 100% of it but at least it gets alot of the kiddies out there making there own cheats.

Not to bring up other games but BF2 has both replays and PB and the replays are priceless. You can see so much in the replay demos its unbeleavable. You should have free range of the map when viewing these replays, leave the player your watching and be able to move to where he shot to see bullet devation, and be able to slow down replays and even pause. This should be implamented in the game forsure.

I just learned that GRAW 2 has a different anti-cheat system from the last title. This system is able to take screen shot of a person's point of view. What that particular person is seeing, you are seeing it on the screen shot. Anyone that is familiar with PB's screen shot system should be familiar with this.

Yes, it looks like it has SS's. But not really like PBs.

Its a good step to combating cheats, but from some pics Ive seen of them. It appears its just like a SS you or anyone could take. Where it differs from PB, is it doesnt appear have any other data included with it to verify the SS.

Meaning, its nice for individual servers to use this to kick/ban players. But they cant be used in a anti-cheat community for public ban lists.
