anyone with a 8800 series card can now enjoy the new nvidia physics driver here http://www.nvidia.com/content/forcewithin/us/download.asp

Uninstall you ageia driver and your prior video driver before installing (if you didnt already know). I just tested it with vegas 2 and OMG! More blood spatter and much better reactions out of tangos. The tangos seem to wake up with this driver. It would appear their brains are powered by quite a chunk of our gpu.

Strange,,,While R6V2 doesnt support PhysX, so its not the PhysX in itself that made the differnce,,,

Yep, I read that on the GRAW 2 forum, downloaded it, install it, was going to give it a swirl but couldn't leave well enough alone and also downloaded the new nForce drivers for my mobo and, well, suffice to say... I am waiting for a few components to put my baby back together! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/bigtears.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

I have been running this driver on a couple of systems for probably a week or so and it seems to run fine, but I don't see a lot of difference!

AndyZedd- Vegas 2 does support physics. It supports ageia physics (whos cards suck). Using this driver will work for both ageia and nvidia and if you dont have an ageia card then it will use your gpu's in place. Your probably only gonna see a big difference if you are running 2-3 cards though.

Hi BilboTeaBaggins your link to download the Nvidia driver 177,83 and PhysX software it's kind of screwup.

But here guys a direct link to download the Driver a the "physX soft."

Driver 177.83 XP 32 and 64 bits and PhysX Software for both. (http://www.tweakforce.com/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=viewdownload&cid=7)

177.83 Vista 32 and 64bits / Physx Software for both. (http://www.tweakforce.com/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=viewdownload&cid=5)

We tried this drivers in this Multimedia product called RSV2 from Ubisoft Co. in both O.S. and it just don't any difference at all the multimedia product called RSV2 it's still faulty and buggy.

No changes in the AI and gameplay still ppl. gets the BSOD etc etc etc. as for the GRAW full of bugs 2 as well. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

But for another "purposes" and another Multimedia products is ok.

Honestly speaking..... that PhysX software is just a bloatware in your systems, but is your choice and your systems http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

i just clicked the link i posted and its working fine. It leads you to physics demos as well, so maybe they have certain countries blocked.

I will agree that initially physics drivers were bloatware, and it was proven that they made systems perform slightly slower. They do however give you something in return in many cases so the lack of performance is a trade off. With these drivers and dual 8800gtx's i see no loss of performance, more vivid blood spatter, and quicker reacting AI when playing single player TH lonewolf. Its noticeable though only if you normally push the ability of your system to begin with. Meaning single handedly killing all tangos in killhouse lone wolf realistic with high density and no mods in 3-4 minutes.

Only difference with these drivers i could see in a game is in UT3,,but only on those maps made for PhysX. GRAW2 sucks even more after installing these.

I run 8800GT.

I cant believe some people claimed that they dont see any differences in the game. For starters, there is a difference in animation of how the game is played in Vegas 1 & 2, specially, Vegas 1. Before the PhysX driver was introduced, everytime you threw a grenade/C-4 to the terrorist, even the dead ones lying on the floor, will move or bounce off as a stiff corpse when the grenade exploded. Now, you see the bodies moving or bouncing (more realistic), in the game (Vegas 1 or 2) when a grenade explodes. Also, google the topic about the "PhysX driver" and what it does, specially the benchmarks.

Nvidia has updated this driver again!
The beta driver is now 177.92, and is 82.2 MB.
That is a little smaller than the 177.83 at 118 MB.

Downloading now so haven't tried it yet!
I will definitely backup my hard drive first!!

rofl, you shouldnt need to back up your drive for that. I did end up having problems with those initial drivers the moment i started hosting. They seemed to create an enormous amount of lag which ultimately resulted in a crash. That was the 177.83.

I'm in college right now. My 8800GTS is more than 100 miles away. I brought my 7900GS because it's got much better heat control (my dorm has NO AIR CONDITIONING) so on hot days, I don't want my video card to hit past 50 degrees Celsius. And believe me, it still does with a "Zalman VF-700 AlCu".

Can't someone youtube it for now? Or post it on veoh? I'm almost busy all the time now with work and school (running both full-time). I'm wondering if I should stay away from games altogether now...

I highly doubt you will be able to tell any difference with youtube's compression. The differences are very subtle but vivid and the compression kills it. I dont think the driver works for the 7900gs though. Its pretty normal for the 8800's to be well over 50c. Even mine stock and h2o'd with air conditioning runs 55c idle with a complete coverage waterblock (ram, core, regulators, sli icc).

You can find the 177.92 driver with updated physx software at www.tweakforce.com (http://www.tweakforce.com)

Here is the list of games that currently support Physx:

http://developer.nvidia.com/object/physx_good_company.html

Graw and Vegas 1 are supported.

BilBoTeaBaggins

thats an incomplete list. Any game that supports ageia physics is supported by these drivers.

Post on veoh.com then.

Um, bump?

Any screenshot proof of this driver being super-effective like the OP claims?

this must be that french guy again....wtf? I had much better luck with the first physics drivers (177.83). With the 92's I cant see any difference from normal drivers using the 8800gtx over standard previous drivers.

Ut-oh, you mean Philip Therein did something with the physics drivers and Vegas 2 compatability?

Sorry to double post, but R6V2 supports PhysX.

Look in the \Binaries folder for PhysXLoader.dll and PhysXCore.dll

New drivers are such a 'placebo'.

You read things like 'omg vegas 2 is different all the problems are gone, the enemy are now smarter and the explosions, wow.

It's just your imagination, their's very few games that benefit from these drivers like graw2 and ut3 and they are patched so that the drivers will work.

I didn't see any difference and got lower frame rates in a lot of games, so i got rid of them.
