Hi,
Well, easy way to find this out:
+First delete one of 'm, see what's changed...
what works and what doesn't ...
+Next, delete the other one, see what's changed...
what works and what doesn't ... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif
Me thinks the Il2.exe is there for compatibility reasons ...
Like some 3rd party program, so it can allways find the correct executable ... to start it ... even older versions ... maybe made for the Original....
So... who knows? Maybe Oleg does?
Then again, who cares?
Do you really?
You must be bored or something?
Well, why?
Just fly!
(Not trying to be annoying you, just that I think I know the feeling... One sometimes just wonders ..)
Have Fun!
(this no stupid question, you can allways find a fool who can give you an answer!)

When FB first came out some of the lobbies had no FB room, only IL2. In order to play FB in the IL2 rooms one had to have a file called il2.exe for the lobbies in question to recognise the game. The developer/distributors were kind enough to save people the trouble of renaming the .exe only to possibly later reverse the name change for (then) future FB rooms by providing two .exe files, one with each name.
They're effectively the same as far as I can tell (except for the name of course).

I understood it to be a means for legacy 3rd party software to run.A nice touch by the developer.
