hey all. im new to the board. but im no stranger to the games.
Anyways, i wanna hear your thoughts on the potential big screen production they've got in the works. Anyone think it'll fly? Drop like a rock?

Ive seen alot of ppl saying they wanna see George Clooney portray Fisher. I just dont see it.
But one actor has caught my eye.
check out this link. his name is Richard Burgi.(Starship Troopers 2). I think he's a spitting image of Sam Fisher's character.

This guy has my vote for the possible movie.
lemmy hear ur thoughts on this and other ppl u'd like to see as the Third Echelon team!

hi! welcome to the forums of splinter cell: chaos theory!i i'm sort of new though i joined a while ago. i consider myself new because i don't get to post often. anyway i hope you don't get to weirded out the ppl here(including myself)and i hope you have fun! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
as for the movie that guy is probably the closest i've seen to Fisher (if he gets a little more hair). but i still think its best to animate the movie so you can keep the original voices, etc.

Hi Adrenaline2005 welcome to the forums. I saw that guy in a TV show I think it was The Setinal. or something like that. You know what you have a point he does look like sam more than clooney. I did see him in the TV show and I think with a little work he could pull it off.

thanks for the comment threering.

Animate? the entire film? Granted, having the voices the same would be a plus but live action would be by far more entertaining and realistic.
Interesting thought for sure tho.

However, that would make the movie too predictable! theres gotta be the feeling of having no idea whats going to happen when u sit down with ur popcorn in the movie theaters.

This flick has the potential to be bigger than any Bruce Willis-blow-****-up kinda movies.
But they'd have to work **** hard to pull it off. It shouldnt be identical to the gameplay Sam Fisher. If they can hit the atmostphere that the overall feeling of the whole Third Echelon/Black-Ops/creeping around in the dark...i think they'd do quite well.

As for now, we wait. We wait while screenwriters sit with Peter Berg and Tom Clancy as they try to hammer out a script for it.

I reckon it will end up being no different from any other tom clacny film. ie, hunt for red october, sum of all fears, clear and present danger. They make good profit, but the action is kinda absent. Just IMO.

yeah, but i wouldn't be able to keep myself away... just so tempting...the awesomeness has me trapped. if the movie is like the book i'd still probably buy the movie no matter how much it sucks. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I have always stated that I thought Richard Burgi being the best to portray the role as Sam Fisher. Now only if Hollywood would think that then maybe it will start becoming a good idea . With the way Hollywood always goes with the Hot new or " Right Now " actor he may not work with it. I am Glad however that there is someone out there that shares my opinion on this matter.

John Messner. Anyone who has seen "Tears of the Sun," or "Anaconda: Search for the Blood Orchin" knows his voice sounds alot like Sam. here is a pic of him.

J. Messner and R. Burgi are kinda like Sam, but I think they'll take some more populat actor.

Im with Derwen, Richard Dean Andersen looks ALOT like Fisher. He doesnt have the voice though...not to mention whenever he got in trouble id expect him to pull a MacGuyver and build a bomb out of toilet paper(his swiss army knife may also be a bit small for slashing throats).

anderson could pull off the voice, but, I think he'd make silencer out of a toilet paper roll...http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif and then use a patatoe gun with a sticky camera in it that is "less than lethal"...http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif but yea, I vote dean anderson (I think he has the sarcastic humar http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif)
