Update 10/11 11:15 am EST: Demo is now live. I'm sending out keys right now so if you entered for one please check your email! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Update 10/9 4pm EST: Dear friends, I just want to update you that there is no update. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif (I haven't received any new word) I'll be sure to let you know, and send out those keys, as soon as I do!

Initial UPDATE: I've just been informed that the demo start date is not today (Tues). Hang tight everyone, as soon as I get the green light that the demo is officially posted on Marketplace I'll post it here and send out the codes! And as a thank you for your patience, you'll receive a second code to share with a friend. Start bartering that code out to your friends! ~ Kimi

There will be a private 360 demo starting next Tuesday, 10/7. The only way to get into the demo is if you pre-order the game or through me. If you're interested in receiving a key, please do ALL of the following:

1. Answer the question in this thread: "If there were an End War movie, what actor do you think should be cast as the JSF leader, Scott Mitchell, and why?" (The "why" is important because if you say someone unlikely like say, Randy Couture, I may not see it through visual resemblance but would understand through your explanation)

2. Send me a private message with your current email address so that if you win a key, I can send it out immediately to you.

Judging is completely subjective by me and maybe I'll pull in our Clancy writer, Richard Dansky, for an occasional opinion. But, as long as your submission isn't completely ridiculous like 50 Cent, you have a good chance at getting one. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

You have until Monday, 5:00 pm EST to submit an entry. Good luck!

I didn't know if you wanted me to post this or send it in a private message.

I thought of two actors that I thought would play the role well hope that is ok.

Neal McDonough to me would be the best actor to play the character. He looks like him and is a very underrated and talented actor. To me he would play a great general because he can play a serious character really well. In Band of Brothers he played 1st Lt. Lynn "Buck" Compton fantastically. To me he is the only person that could bring in the level of depth and persona that he would be able bring to the character. Not to mention he knows how to act in a serious war movie.

Another response I receive through PM...

AKAJULIUS78: I would go with BRUCE WILLICE. The reason follows he has a strong stare, a soldier body, he gives off a General persona who has seen and been there. If we give some hair just for the part he could be our Scott Mitchel. He held his own as a seal team leader in TEARS OF THE SUN (I LOVE THAT MOVIE)plus he is a very good military actor to me. With all that he is a action hero and would bring people to the theater. To the person who wrote the book to this game two thumb up, I refuse to finnish it to fast, I feel like I want the story to last for ever or the action in my case to keep going. I have the book for over six months and I feel like it a piece something that I do not want to end. To me it is that good so I read a little at a time to charish and save as much as I can for another time because I like this story that much. Do me a favor and do one on the Ghost so I can let this one go.

I think that Max Martini who plays Mack Gerhardt in the unit would make a good Scott Mitchell, he has that screen presence that make's you actually believe he could be spec op's. Also he looks rough and ready like he has seen some action, not a fresh faced actor who looks like he just walked out of a trailer to do the shoot.

Brimtown: Robert Downey Jr. He did a great job in Iron Man, and would be nice to see him in a serious military role (not that his role in Tropic Thunder wasn't good).

My alternative pick would be The Rock, Dwayne Johnson. He just looks like a bad-*** military commander.

beonder13
10-03-2008, 02:04 PM
Tom Cruise... have you not seen him in Tropic Thunder? A little makeup goes a long way and a LOT of makeup helps even more http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Christian Bale. He's totally dreamy and can play pretty much anything. Imagine Batman spreading nuclear freedom across the world. $200 mil box office easy. He wields a mean chainsaw in case things get up close and personal too.

The first person that came to mind for me was Harrison Ford minus 20 years or so. I think he would have played a great Scott Mitchell had he had the chance. So I gave it some more thought, actually about two hours worth of thought, and after going through pretty much every actor I could think of, one stuck out to me the most. I think Kiefer Sutherland would be best suited to play Scott Mitchell. He is an exceptional "action actor," and I think he would make a very great, confident leader. Playing Scott Mitchell would be the ideal next step for him considering his role as Jack Bauer who thrawrts terrorist plots for a living. Instead of being armed with a pistol, he would get an M468 or MR-C instead.

Chance Kelly (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0446257/), he played Lt. Col. Stephen 'Godfather' Ferrando in Generation Kill (http://www.hbo.com/generationkill/). Why? I think he has proven he's already able to play a very similar character(leader, military), check his interviews and movie clips:

What some of you guys are forgetting is that Scot is suppose to be oldder now.
Not saying in his 60's but late 40's at least.
These guys look a little off on the age scale to me, a bit too young or just do not look like CAREAR HARDENED special forces soldiers look alikes to play the part.
For one they have too fresh of a face.
Look if you know any thing about a real soldiers, you would know that we do not get enough sleep.
I was just a regular soldier and I've missed plenty of winks cause of guard duyty, late night shifts early formation, CQ, DRINKING LATE knowing you have only 2 and a half hours untill pt formation, being in the feild and I was just a regular soldier.
But but he's the CREAM OF THE CROP, SPECIAL FORCES, and the best of them in a matter of fact.
So you know through all of the trainning, late missions, early mornning missions, staying up two to three days strait to acomplish and see those missions through, yeah he has missed more of his good beuty sleep.
The stress in the face is needed to be there.
That's what makes a hardcore soldier look so damn dangerous and say yeah I've been there and MADE MY WAY BACK.
It's what it is the combat stress face, look at Sam FISHER a VET of the underbelly wars, would you dare pick some those guys to play him look that. (TOM CRUSE COME ON NOW..)
I use to stress out and be so up tight even when there was nothing really going on, but just worrying about what new hoops I will have to jump through next.
For him he's watching his back, his teams back, the stress of the missions, the exacutions of the missions, making sure to complete it and do it how the BRASS wants it, plus comming home ALIVE, not just in one peace.
A dampered stressed face is needed.
Now I'm not saying he has to be run down, but Scott has been through it all, this guys been through how many tours of duty, how many combat related injurys, how many sleepless nights?
The actors eyes need to be sucked in more for me with a good bit of stressful wrinkles.
BRUCE WILLIS IS THE ACTOR. The guys who played BATMAN is too fresh, Brad Pit need more bulk with a stronger look.
Now Fichtner was good in Black Hawk Down but the guy who played the other Delta Force member and also played David Banner in the first HULK would be a better choice for SCOTT MITCHEL than him.
Plus that GRAW 2 picture of Scott should not be used.
Go back to GHOST RECON 2 and SUMMIT STRIKE when he had a more wider, stronger jawbone, than the new GRAW 2 pictures show of him.
Now I can't lie because that picture looks just like Fichtner and Scott are one of the same, but thats not the old Scott Mitchel look from what I know of him. COMMANDO BLACK I WANT THAT VIP CODE!!!!

Scott Mitchel is 37 in GRAW2 which takes place in the year 2014. End War takes place in 2020 which is 6 years later and that makes Scott 43. Yes that is older then Christian Bale but much younger than both Bruce Willis(born in 1955) and William Fichtner(born in 1956). At that age you're probably not running around with a rifle anymore.

General Petraeus (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/General_Petraeus) for example is only 3 years older than both of them. And he became a Major General when he was a few years younger.

See the thing about Bruce Willis is I thought about him but he is to much of a big name Hollywood movie actor. You cant have to big of a named actor that has played a lot of roles as a Die Hard cop other wise people will think the movie is going to be cheesy. To me in this picture of Buck Compton played by Neal McDonough well he looks like he is worn down and has been through some tough battles. He is also around the right age. http://people.zeelandnet.nl/haroldvdb/bandofbrothers/acteurs/Buck1.jpg

Based on how other beta's have run you would need to access the marketplace blade on XBL and select the 'redeem code' option, once you've submitted the code the beta download should start immediately. No need to use the forums although the feedback would be invaluable http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Kimi will send the keys out as soon as thats happened, in the meantime anyone wanting to keep up to date with the situation needs this thread (http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/8911019745/m/3981038196) http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

Hi I know that im a little late to this topic but is there any chance of me getting a demo code? The demo has not been released yet and I would love to play Endwar. Ive been watching this game since the release trailer.

I understand if I cant but I thought I might as well try.

Anyway I was think about Mark Wahlberg as Scott. With a little makeup he could be a little older if need and he seems to be the current hit actor. If its got Marky Mark then you better go see it. I mean with Shooter the Depearted and the recent Max Payne not to mention all the other recent and upcoming films hes done...or going to do....hes very popular with what would probably be the main audience with a ghost recon film.

I sent the message.

I think I sent an unnecessary extra message as I am trying to get used to this format. :P

Anyway I chose Neal McDonough from "Band of Brothers". He can perfectly portray a thoughtful leader and is around the right age to be Scott Mitchell.
