View Full Version : My first attempt...

I cobbled this together today:
It's far from perfect, but since I'm not planning on releasing it, it doesn't need to be. If you can tell what it's supposed to be, it's done its job http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif.
What I thought would be a relatively quick and easy job actually turned out to be quite a long process. I just used the void (with a lot of trial and error!), as I didn't have a clue how to use the psd template. Any tips here?
One thing's for sure, its certainly made me appreciate the skill that goes into all these skins. Thank you, I'm not worthy http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/11.gif

Uhmm...a Sea Hawk maybe? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/10.gif
Interesting work M8...seems promising IMHO!

Good looking Sea Hawk skin. Great idea by the way!
You should release it.

I recognize that skin. You and I tangled on the jet server tonight! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif It's a good first effort.

Looks good to me - you should upload it somewhere.

Nice first skin, did you ever make it onto the carrier http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif

Thanks for the kind words http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif. I've always been keen on the fleet air arm colour scheme and have a soft spot for the sea hawk. Since there seems to be some interest, I might release it. Some work is needed to sort out things like yellow turbine blades though http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
did you ever make it onto the carrier
Hehe, carrier takeoffs clearly weren't going to happen. However, i managed to get it on the deck quite a few times. I found it best to keep the gear tucked up and take it in for a belly landing. Wasn't that the plan they had for the early jets anyway?

carrier takeoffs clearly weren't going to happen
Owts possible (nearly)

I think you scraped some paint off chris on that takeoff LOL

Ok smarty pants, challenge accepted http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
Trying to take off from a stationary carrier was where I went wrong. Takeoff and landing is no real hassle if you're steaming into a headwind. With an empty loadout. And 5% fuel...

One Upmanship, I love it! Think I'll try it in a P-80 http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/winky.gif

Paaaahhhh, 5%, its possible with 75% http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/winky.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif
Nice skin as well, shame we never got any early UK jets (meteor, vampire etc)

I love it. It would be a shame not to make it public! Great work mate.
