what do i have to alter in a tank file so that tank can become a flamethrower tank like the churchill croc. i got a mod that includes flametanks but i want to know if i can alter different tanks to have flamethrowers, for example can i have tiger tank with a ft. and what files do i need to change, the game file or a mod file.
and last can i still be able to play mp like that with files altered by me that no one has them exactly like the ones i have ?

Everyone has to have the same modifications...
I assume you are talking about my mod that has the flame tanks? I don't think any other mod has flame tanks in it.
You have to change the gun on a tiger to be "flame_gun" for the main gun or "flame_mgun" for hull gun. This stuff is in the vehicle .def file.

Woops, I messed up. You have to change the flame effect in tank.inc as well.

Shouldnt the flamethrower be a secondary weapon? The real flame tanks were normal tanks, but they had normal flamethrowers inside them, that they put into the gunbarrel..

yes exactly like the chrucill croc that has its ft in the hull mg position
though ive never seen a fl tank that has the fl IN the gun barrel...

its just that i like messing around with tank armaments.

I don't remember the line... just look for the word "flame"... there should be changes to three tanks in there that I made.

the only change ive noticed is were it says
mgun1 {hull}
weapon {flame_mgun}
Weapon {dt,browning, etc}
that is more orless what it says in the file
and thats the only place ive seen the word flame

In the editor the flame thrower effect is an fx that has a name.. I used that effect on the tank when it shoots. So if main gun shoots then I show that flame thrower effect. If mgun hull shoots then I show the effect down there. The flame_mgun/gun "weapons" only define how fast and how far the "guns" shoot but they do not create the flame effect.
Check out human.inc and you will see the flame effect attached to them when they are holding a flame thrower.

well changed files of the line u said, converted an is2 to have a ft at hull mg position, did what u said, aplied flame efect in editor to is2 and changed lines saying weapon "flame_mgun" and so on then tested in mp alone and it worked, very cool, atleast now i know howta hack game files to change vehicle weaponry, also converted t34 to have the calliope rocket launcher thing and gess what, it worked

yes but there is one exception, the Hetzer Flammen Panzer which hjad the FT as main weapon.

Yes, that is what I had to do for the Flammpanzer III... flames come out of main gun.
