So... after a few days of frustration I was able to get ranked matches working.

I installed a dual-boot of XP and it works great. For some reason Vista wouldn't let me play ranked matches at all.

So, I've played a little bit and enjoyed, especially agent00kevin's maps and on capture the diamond.

So... a few questions:

1. Why does it take so long for everyone to click "ready" in the match lobby? There were several times today when both teams were full, but most of the players were just sitting there preventing the match from starting. If you don't want to play, leave the lobby and let someone else.

2. Why did I have the admin kick me for asking that question (politely) in the lobby? It said something like "admin decision" to kick me out right after I asked.


I wasn't being rude, I wasn't breaking any rules. Did I get kicked for being number 1 on my team in the last match? (even though I'm only on rank 3?)

After everything I went through to get the game to work, now encountering people like that in this community... It's frustrating.

Help me understand please. Thanks!

The waiting in the game lobby could be due to people downloading the map from the community server. I know this is annoying but you just have to put up with it I suppose.

No...they were sitting there well after the map had downloaded. You can see the progress bar under their name.

Probably 5 minutes of just sitting there. And then they kicked me off.

If ppl know each other then they get on comms and talk for a bit while waiting for their afk players. Then other ppl join and after 2 seconds of waiting say "googogogogo" and spam it thru chat...then they flick their rdy button a billion times so it flashes next to their name.
This gets really annoying so host boots them, then another one joins and does the same...host boots them, then you join and ask a similar question and well you can guess the rest.

Well, first off, thanks for mentioning my maps! Its great to get compliments in the map forum, but then to browse another discussion and see them mentioned - very cool. I put a lot of thought and time into most of those.

As for kicking, could be that they were waiting for a friend and as a new guy, you went out. It sux, but its fairly common with FC2 as it only supports 16 players.

Feel free to stop by any UNS or UberNerdServer as I dont do that. If its freinds only, there will be a password and it wont even be named UNS. If we are full and a friend cant get in, we usually move to another UNS server or just 'go out' to other servers for a game or two.
