Now I know what PEC is I played the RSV MP demo, and in the demo it says that the falcon has more armor less mobilitty then say raven. But I was just reading Official Xbox Magazine and in an article about Raibow Six Vegas it said "Ubisoft Montreals Chadi Lebbos, the games executive producer tells us "PEC does not remove the game's tactical lethality by giving the already skilled player more advantages."" Know I take that as saying one armor does NOT give more protection then another it's just there for the looks is this true ubisoft?

They've said elsewhere that armor is not going to make much difference if someone is standing 2ft away shooting you in the head - BUT - if they are far away and going for a bodyshot then your armor will come into play

Its true, armor makes more of a difference at long range but yes it does have function it's not just cosmetic.

What we meant in our interviews is that everyone starts with access to armor so the playing field is even for everyone.

From how I take it, you start out with access to light, med and heavy armor. Seems that through unlockables you get different types of these 3 armor classes, but not an advantage or TYPE of armor that you didn't start out with. Is that right Goliath? Mostly for customization?

Armor does seem to make a difference, esp vs an SMG at range. I think they got it just right. How much is that armor worth to you vs mobility? Lets you customize how you want to play. Very well done.

...and happy Thanksgiving guys. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

When you equip armor it goes on different parts of your body like chest legs and arms. Do the specific armors actually protect said body parts or is it just and overall addition to your "armor"? If you are wearing chest heavy armor does it only protect your chest? I'm wondering because it seems the more armor people are equiping the more headshots it takes to kill them even though there is no "head armor". Also, lots of people are saying the helmets under the "clothing" option are actaully making it harder to get one-shot-kill headshots.

They've said in numerous places that none of the unlockable items gives you any gameplay advantage over the gear you start with. And since you don't start with any helmets, I think it's safe to say that they're just cosmetic.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

If you read the earlier posts heavier armor does make a difference. Goliath stated that. And about the helmets the first unlockable helmet is Kevlar (kevlar is a bullet resistance material) and would make sense if it take more then one headshot if people are wearing it.

I think it is obvious that the armor makes a differnce. I used all the titan armor and the helmet once I unlocked. I move slower than those with not much armor but take more hits. Its also alot easier to take down players who have, hardly any armor on. And headshots, especially up close, kill instantly.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

I have the same question. Is the armor body part specific or cumulative?

i.e. If you are wearing as much armor as possible over your entire body and get hit in the chest are you more protected than if you are just wearing the same piece of chest armor and no other armor?

Or for that matter, if you are wearing leg armor only, does it provide increased protection to hits in the chest?<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

I don't understand these people running around wearing nothing at all. I mean if it's for cosmetic reasons then I get it, but it sure didn't look that way..

The less armor you are wearing, the faster you move. That is one reason people would wear no armor.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

i also would like to know the answer to the cumulitive armoe question. on gamefaqs there was a guy claiming he tested it with armor everywhere but the chest, shooting into the chest and it took more shots with the armor on the limbs and head than without, making it seem like its cumulative and not area specific

of course this is gamefaqs though, most people there are morons so who knows how acurate this is, id like an official answer

Not what I have seen. Playing co-op mission I had armor of 5 bars/speed 5 bars and a friend had no armor and he would go running past me and easily gain ground running away from me. The difference was easily noticeable for us.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

i wonder if thats only online, because we raced from where you spawn to the firetruck down the street on library[pretty good distance...virtual 50+ yards maybe?]and reached the truck at the exact same time.

....maybe he messed up choosing his character,i'll give it another try.

i wear a medium vest, everything else full heavy. i wear a helmet too, but that's just cosmetic i think. my armor has saved me from being killed by bullets and the peripheral blast radius of explosives more often than i'd care to admit. my speed is slower than my friends wearing lighter armors...especialy in the open & @ full sprint (if you can call my speed a "sprint" that is).
