.Bsp should be compiled to .vtf, shouldn't it?

VTF = Valve Texture File/Format - Compiled Texture file
VMF = Valve Map File/Format - Compiled Map file
Should be VMF -- as stated...

Hey n00bs,
If u have been tracking the posts of various other forums you would know that it was possible to decompile DM maps....
In the demo and beta of multiplayer all you had to do was change the 7th bit of the bsp from 04 to 00, that would have changed the ident version of the bsp to that of half life 2... then all you had to do was run it through thy old vmex and ureka.....
Now these guys went all gay and decided to change the lumps of the bsp's as well as the ident numbers.... now the cordons are all out of bounds unless someone wants to remap the new lumps and make or give the data to vmex guy.... or ryan gregg of nems tools....

Also, what you could do is lol, while those guys are working on hacking dm maps try using 3D Ripper DX, which is like the golden program for cracking various stuff...
basically i havent tried using it for any source based games but this tool can screenshot all textures, shaders and geometry while your in-game, which combined with noclip you can lookup the entire map... screenshot it and bring it into xsi from which then you can export to hammer. (P.S. 3Ds max required...) but this works with many games including halo, supreme commander, FEAR, battlefield 2142, Not so much ghost recon 3 but tron 2.0 and so on) - anything running in DX 9 lol....

This is the sort of talk I like to see.
Anybody here trying to hack an SDK into DM single player?
If so how successful have you been?
