View Full Version : What A Way To End A Patrol

I just started a new career a couple of days ago in TMO 1.9 sailing out of Manila on the first patrol and out of Surabaya on the second. I sank one lone merchant on the first patrol. Had many contacts but for one reason or another could not close to fire any torpedoes. On the second patrol out of Surabaya I was assigned the task of patrolling the upper end of the Makassar Straits. My luck was even worse on the second patrol, not one ship was sighted. Running short on fuel it was decided to head back to Surabaya and refuel. The Sculpin never reached Surabaya as the news reached us that the port had been captured by the Japanese. All Asiatic boats were to shift base of operations to Fremantle on the SW coast of Australia. Having passed through the Lombok Straits and into the Indian Ocean the Sculpin set course for Fremantle. On March 5th at 2200 hrs sound reported picking up two sets of high speed screws, very faint, but heading the Sculpin's way. A short while later lookouts spotted a Japanese DD of to the SW. After the Sculpin had reached PD sonar reported multiple sets of screws all around the dial. Raising the periscope for a quick look I saw a very pretty sight. A nice big carrier was passing by at 2500 yds. All bow tubes were fired. Swinging the periscope around we picked up a heavy crossing our stern. All stern tubes were let loose. Pulling the plug, the Sculpin headed deep. Torpedo explosions from the torpedoes hitting their respective targets through the hull of the Sculpin sounded mighty per-tty. The Sculpin got a Hiryu class CV and a Maya class CA for her troubles. Heck of a way to end a patrol after the first part a total waste.

Nice haul.

Question though:
Whats up with the clouds in those pics? Are you using the latest patch? Have any other mods running? Just curious if the work i did fixing some of the enviorments is turning into a case of, "Well, it worked on my computer" or not.

No, I've not added the latest patch yet, I shall remedy that tonight after I get home from work. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Are you playing without RSRD? How do you like the reworked TMO traffic. Duc said had a normal zig pattern, something sorely missing, so gonna give it a try.

Battles scripted fairly well, you like it...so on...

As usual, great story. I'm just gonna submit my SS to you from now on and let you write the storyline.

Yes, I am playing without RSRDC right now. And to be truthful I haven't played V1.9 all that much yet. I was playing FOTRS but that mod is way to buggy when you get late into the war. And sofar from the little I've seen of v1.9 I like it.

http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif Well as for the scripting for your SS I think you do a pretty good job yourself, besides I'm a little busy being a Moderator on another Forum, if you know what I mean. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif
