Hello All,
First off, I really like these new boards, much better than the old system!
Secondly, I've been following this game somewhat passively for a while now. I'm a long-time Myst fan, I've played the games, filled the pages of countless notebooks with diagrams and jotted notes on puzzles, so I don't consider myself to be a complete n00b when it comes to the worlds of Myst. That said however, I'm just a little bit confused over all the fiction generated around this game.
I understand that the attempt here is to paint the most complete work of fiction surrounding a video game ever, and I think a good job is being done because I'm confused out of my mind as I try to follow the various threads from the old board and all the hinted references from interviews and Q&A sessions with the Cyan guys. I saw some stuff about the real-life puzzle work involving Zandi and was very impressed... but still confused.
It seems this has been a game operating in reality (both physically and over forum discussions) in preparation for the release of Uru and subsequently the launch of Uru Live. Where I am confused is I'm just trying to get a coherent idea of what's been going on, what's the backstory that leads up to this moment? The game's manual is sadly brief when it comes to story or general information.
My question for you, the Uru community gurus, is this: Where (if anywhere) can I find the information that's been floating around in forms of cryptic forum posts, real-life scavenger hunts, mysterious phone calls and so on? Has anyone pulled all of this together over the past few years? I ask because I really would like to get a better feel for the story Cyan has worked so hard to craft.
My thanks to all those who are able to help...
-Mike
