Hi guys/gals. Is this the right forum for getting help as I am a newbie to SH3 and want to get pointers on lining up targets, etc when playing the game? I am having a little trouble figuring out the firing angles and terminology in the manual like AOB, etc..... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif

Welcome guarddog32,

The SH3 community manual (http://alexbret.perso.cegetel.net/index4875.html) has all the info you need. If you have any gameplay question, ask in the SH3 General discussion forum.

Good hunting.

Hello Guarddog,
You might like this also : Jager's Silent Hunter Website (http://geocities.com/jager_sh3/index.html)". But make sure to read the Community Manual, it's the SH3 Bible(Maybe even print some important pages out, I have a whole binder full http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif) .

Oh, and there's also " Wazoo's Manual Charting & Targeting Tutorial (http://www.paulwasserman.net/SHIII/)"

I read once where WW2 Skippers were so well trained in this they could do it in their sleep. They thought like a compass. I think it was Joe Enright who could raise the scope once or twice and have dead on every time. Amazing! But what works for me is always to remember that Angle onthe bow is the targets bow to you, not the other way around. I had no end of trouble keeping this in my grey matter. When i can I like to match the targets course and speed, the AOB is 180 degrees minus the bearing to target. Good rule of thumb.

@ Afish - I was wondering, does your past real life experiences helped in playing Silent Hunter ?
