Future Aircraft?

Uh..hi, I'm new here, and I just want to ask this question. I think someone has already asked this, but I just want to make sure.
I know H.a.w.x take place in the future and we have advance computer guidence but the plane in this game doen't make sence of what the game is saying. It say that this is war take place in the future, and I though that if this take place in the future, why does the plane we have in this game is mostly 20th century plans? If this game is base on future war, I think we need more futuristic planes.
But that is just a thought.

You forgot one word right there, the game is set in the near future. Like the developer on the ubidays told: The game is set in 2014. And i can tell you there are future planes in it, like the F-35. There's only a prototype of them now. And a lot of countries will still be using those 20th century planes in 2014. So i don't think we need more futuristic planes because that would totally screw up the game

Like he said above its only in the near future so the planes in use now will still be in service or just ending.Future planes would kill the game

It's 2021 BTW, so it will mostly still be aircraft in service now or in prototype stage.

And there is one fictional aircraft design (that's beleivable though) called the A-20 Razorback from Endwar.
There are also a few planes based on concepts like the FB-22 and A-12

The F22, F35 and FB-22 are all 5th generation aircraft, so to, is the SU-47. Neither of these have officially entered service yet. The FB-22 is stated to be entering service by 2035. This is plenty futuristic. Also, I highly doubt that the F15 and F18 will be departing service anytime soon. Avionics (electronics in these planes can always be upgraded.)

uhm,,,, the f22 is already in use by the USAF.

I think there are a few futuristic aircraft, but why put a Jaguar instead of a Tornado? It's stupid, also, that there are lots and lots of French fighters...I would of liked to have seen some more of the aircraft used by the best air force in the world....the RAF http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/11.gif

But alot of the gameplay videos, and the demo, showed the date as 2021http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif with a few preslude missions in 2015+

Of all the "futuristic" fighters, I'll admit the A-12 Avenger II is currently the one I'm most psyched about.

So it is after the start of EndWar. So why is this going on with pmcs if we are fighting WW3? I think they messed the dates up.

Well, i would have liked to see the Tornado in the game... but a Jag? wow... thats gonna be the first time ive flown one in a game. And to answer which is better? horses for courses my friend... the Jag was used up until recently by 41F Squadron RAF as a recon plane and before that generally as a Close air support attack aircraft (a job taken over by the harrier)

And the worlds best air force? ahem, im not gonna become a target, and as much as i like the RAAF im a pommie, so you can guess who im voting for

The Yf-12 was a prototype for a proposed long range interceptor. The Air Force decided not to put it to use because they didn't think there was a need for it.

Instead, they found that it was quite suitable as reconnaissance aircraft and this became the SR-71.

A couple answers to clear up the misinformation:

F-35 - will enter both production and service in the next few coming years.

F-22 - already started service in the USAF

These are the only two 5th generation aircraft around. Period.

The FB-22 is a design being considered, but it's not very likely to see production. It may, but I doubt it. As of now, it's not going to happen, but again, that could change. It's never been built.

Su-47 - only a prototype, few built, no plans to enter production, so no to the entering service thing. Also, it's a 4.5 ish generation fighter prototype, mainly used as a technology demonstrator. They still have problems with the strength of the wings under high speed turns. The PAK FA will likely be the true next production aircraft being their first 5th generation fighter. As of yet, it's still in the design phase, with funding still up in the air.

The YF-12 is, as stated, a precursor to the SR-71. It was intended as an interceptor (much like the MiG-25/31). The main obvious differences were the rounded nose cone to house its radar as well as the ability to carry AA missiles. The idea was scrapped after a time.

The A-12 never left the drawing boards except for a couple mockup models.

This XA-20 is likely an attacker, given the "A" in the designation. I guess we'll see.
