But that is a little deceptive.. with 22 seconds or so left in the 2nd quarter .. the Redskins intercept a Brees pass and begin to run it back.. the runner gets mugged.. literally ... near the sidelines and then the NO wide reciever who stripped tye ball from the runner runs the ball in for a TD. If the runner had al least held on to the ball we would have been looking at a 20-10 Skins score at the close of the half.. I think this is the best game the skins have played all year.. regardless to the outcome.. unless they implode, which is always a possibility.. we shall see. That was last week... My teams are the Giants, Steelers & Redskins.. and I support the Skins because they are the home team... relatively.. since I live in Va. (20m S of DC) .... but I do like the Saints and I hope they do well.. uless of course they wind up having to play my Giants...

At least it is recognisably a sport. Ever watched ice hockey, DC? This seems to consist mostly of fistfights, and I think the objective is to get as many of your opponents sent off or hospitalised as possible. If anyone actually hits the puck with his stick, the umpires call a penalty for 'icing' or something like that...

The US seems to be slowly embracing more non-traditional "stick and ball" sports. Nightly local news is still stuck there, but they are the last to know anyway. My oldest boy was a charter member of our town's first rugby team and it's been catching on all over the state. Cycling is bigger than ever here, as well as triathlons and long distance running.
