Hi,

Just wondering if anyone has been to Normandy and has seen first hand some of the places that will be in the game?

Also, I only know a couple of places that will be in the game, Carentan etc but does anyone know any other towns, villages or places where the game will be set?

hmmmmm i dont know if you can really ask that question because of the fact we kind of dont know what is presented in the game. the only way we would know is if we have been there and later looked up where the real 502 were and walk to those sites. as for the other places, yeah there will be some small scale viliages, open fields and so on

Yeh suppose, just thought that maybe after all the info, screen shots, movies etc on the game that maybe there was more info on the locations (more than I knew about anyway).

i mean if you look at the mission and maps video they show recon film and pics fading into the game maps. besides that we have been left in the dark. i say good, gives the game more suprise and blink of an eye decisions.

Varieville(SP?), St. Come du Mont, Utah Beach Exit 4, Hill 30, Carentan Causeway, Heisville, 'XYZ' Complex, St. Mere Eglise, Dead Man's Corner, and Greenham Common(England) are all the ones I can dig up at the time that are in the game.

Me and 3 clanmates went to the 60th D Day celebrations last year. Awesome trip. Drove over in my Audi A4 Cabriolet (catch the rays), did all the beaches, Pegasus Bridge, Carentan, St Mere Eglise, Pont Du Hoc (where the rangers scaled the cliffs).

To cap it all we were looking round Carentan and walked into the town square and we spotted some vets and noticed they had screaming eagle insignia. Yup, completely by luck we had bumped into 6 of Easy Company including Shifty Powers, Earl McClung and Buck Taylor who (after I ran back to the car to get it) signed my BoB DVD Boxset!!!

Heres me and Shifty

Vw-Orinoco (Dan) supposed to be trying to follow a chopper with his telescope but from the angle of the scope I reckon he was watching a french bird down the road!!

Orinoco, BMF and Qualcast with a less than chirpy french guy in his Willys Jeep in Carentan

And finally the opitime of handsome gamers with a tank at the small museum at Omaha Beach

The Easy Company guys were great, happy to chat and take photos and unbelievably modest although some of the people there asked some pretty stupid questions (one Japanese guy asked Shifty where Major Winters was 4 times, pretty rude if you ask me like Shifty was second best or something!). I asked Shifty how realistic B0B was and he said pretty much accurate apart from a few 'Hollywood' moments used to shift the story along.

Probably 4 of the most memorable days of my life, awesome. Ive got tons more photos and an hour or so of video footage of re enacted landings on the beaches (DUKWs etc) and part of a speech made by a guy I believe was the son of one of Easy Company when we met em.

Cheers
