You need to be able to set a minimum quantity of things in the storage. "By Demand" is not helpful when you want to quickly train 10 soldiers or make 5 rings when your storage reserves are 0.

I would rather have set the storage to hold a mimimum off say 5 weapons to be able to cope with the quick demand of 10 soldiers, and at the same time, "By Demand" starts on making 10 weapons. (5 to make 10 soldiers and another 5 to get the minimum quota back)

And before you say turn "Always On", I can already see 30mins down the track I will go, "Damn it, forgot to turn always on off, now wasted all these mats. I didn't want 50 of these, only wanted 5!"

If you want to play on "easy" you can choose the option when you select the AI you want to play.

In other words, your "issue" is part of the challenge and strategy of playing the game.

I have to agree with Ldylarke, it's really a part of the game to keep track of your entire production, and make sure you don't have too few of anything, but also not too much (with the exception being the basic resources maybe, like ores and building materials).
