Just got this and it's pretty sweet!!

how has everyone been customizing they're abilities?

i pretty much will be going full cooldown on smoke bomb and mute.

when i first saw ability crafting i was hoping it would actually allow me to merge abilities creating unique versions

for example take poison + hidden gun = poison dart.

perhaps next game =P

I haven't actually done anything with this yet, been busy like all day today (yes, I still have time to make forum posts, just not time to put myself in a 10 min game of NO PAUSING! :P) Do you have to unlock crafting stuff? IE do x to unlock cooldowns, do y to unlock longer duration, etc.

You can craft different things depending on the ability, you can spend up to two points (you get these points at level 30) and it costs xp like most of the other stuff does, and it can change range, duration, delay of time it takes to engage like for trip wire bomb, cooldown, execution time it takes to perform the ability, and other stuff like morphing more people etc etc.

Each ability has three things you can alter.

You don't have to unlock the capability to craft the cooldown or the duration or the effect that is native to that certain ability. You get 2 points that you can spend on whichever of those three categories you wish.

However, you should keep in mind that if you craft an ability and later decide to re-craft it and alter it, you will have to pay another 80 Abstergo Credits.

I am hoping that once you prestige, you will be able to unlock more points that you can use to craft your abilities.

You should put those 2 points on the duration of the Smoke Bomb so that you can OSB, lmao.

To be honest, offensive smoke bomb is so much better in ACR than it was in ACB. I usually didn't use it in ACB, but I almost always use it in ACR for the huge point potential.

I haven't seen too many others using offensive smoke because they haven't unlocked it yet. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif

I'll say sadly, I use OSB quite often in AC:R...even though I absolutely hated it in AC:B, now I don't care to much http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/51.gif

i went for double cooldowns for my abilities. i don't offensive smoke because it's generally not necessary.

No way I'm putting cooldown on smoke for MH. Gonna put both points into duration.

I've maxed cool-down for mute, though, and I'm going to play around with disguise and see if there is some way to make it count as a hiding spot.

i never thought about adding duration to smokebomb. what a crafty thought. i wonder what you can add to teleport.

I saw this when I was in the menu today... sounds like a good thing to use. I always wanted a certain skill that can turn me into someone else and do a smoke bomb thingy or something to escape. :3

You only manipulate the properties of current abilities, you don't make your own. For instance, you can add more range or cool-down to a smoke bomb. That's all.

excuse me guys, am i doing something wrong? i spend 80 credits in one ability to change it, but i was not able to save it. when i left the menu, the ability automatically switched back to normal. i did this twice, spend 160 credits, which are gone now, but it changed nothing. wtf?

That actually sounds like a bug. You can report it but it wont bring ur credits back. Ur sure u didnt press on reset after u crafted the ability?

OP: I crafted poison to 300pt and a full cooldown for SB. Its still enough to get a Focus poison - I see no benefit in duration or range. Using the SB every 45sec means no contested kills at all. I crafted also other abilities but I dont use them that much.

Disguise: Cooldown
Mute: 1 Cooldown 1 Duration
Knifes: Cooldwon

I used to hate OSB in Brotherhood and never tried it because I'd save the smoke bomb for when I really needed it for defensive purposes, but I do it a lot now and you don't even have to put any points in duration to use it. It just doesn't annoy me as much now, I guess since you can stun after poisons and contest kills.

Crafting an ability costs so many credits!

I want to customize my characters. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

I feel ya. I balanced them both. I customized smoke bomb, but apart from that...did characters first, then when I had all my character customizations squared that I cared about (sentinel, deacon, guardian, renegade, trickster, thespian) I started customizing everything.

If you want a perspective on price, look at the cost for the feather templar emblem that becomes available at prestige 50 -- 10000 pts.

Pretty much what I'm doing, focusing on customizing 2 characters at a time, pretty much done with 5 or 6 of them, just need to finish buying the stuff I wont use http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif
