just after getting the scorpion sword

ok, i'm a little stuck, i just got the scorpion sword from kaliena(sp?) and moved the lever to make the platorms appear, just outside the room where you get it from her. i can't seem to get past either door. one door takes me to a room with a timed lever, i pulled it down, slowed time and rolled under it. the next room was just a lever (timed again) that opens the same door i came from, any ideas what to do, i can't see anywhere else to go in here?
the other door takes me to yet another timed block i step on, it opens up from flooring for a few seconds but then disappears, how much sand should i have, i can't make it across it all closes before i can reach the end, or is there a better way to make it across, faster way then rolling across?
