I bought the game and put the dvd in and it just sits there.. tries to read and.. nothing (no errors either)!
I did have daemon tools installed and then removed it (rebooted).. still nothings loads from the dvd.. I also tried it in windows safemode and it doesn't read there either.
Do you guys think this is a faulty disc or a conflict problem with other apps? Other dvd games work great.

hmm, not sure if this will work, but i do know someone who has a Sony DVD player and it wont read EA games, so perhaps check if theres a BIOS update for your DVD.
Most software has error tracks in the the DVD sectors as a copy protection, this may be causing problems reading with your DVD player
If the above doesnt work, try installing it on another PC to ensure that the DVD itself is ok<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

More likely, his DVD-ROM may have issues reading a Dual Layer DVD. An update of the DVD-ROM's firmware can probably correct that.

Same problem here, i installed the game from DVD with no problems, then when i tried to run the game, the starforce protection told me to disable daemon tools.
I did that, and after reboot i couldn't read the DVD no more.
My player reads other dvds fine, and my vegas dvd works on other players.
I think that starforce just screwed up my player (by installing his ****ty drivers)

The Game isnt using starforce protection. You can try to uninstal the game and reinstall. The game just doesnt like virtual drives. I had the same problem at first but once I removed my virtual drives evry thing is fine.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

theres a small program called YASU to hide virtual drives so you dont have any problems
i copied my dvd to harddrive and mounted it with daemon tools because my dvd rw makes weird noises that sounds like its eating the disk all the time..not healthy
anyway i found YASU on www.*************.com (http://www.*************.com)
well i cant paste it but its on a game backup site so its up to u to find it lol<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

You also might want to check the easy stuff first before you start trying to find firmware for your DVD-ROM drive. I bought Battlefield 2142 and the DVD came with all these weird "waves" on the readable part of the DVD. Kinda looked like wave imprints in the sand, so it made my DVD Rom unreadable. Do other DVD-rom's work? Are you able to put in a recent movie (one that is dual layer, most recent movies are) and get it to recognize?
Try those things out first. If dual layer dvd's don't work but single layer does, then I would follow the steps people have stated above, since firmware may just be it.
