I just got a mission to patrol a gridsquare in the centre of Spain?

Do I just abandon that mission? Or maybe go and play around Gib, looking for the nice fat convoy?

Just go on a rampage and sink as much as you can. When your out of ammo end the mission. This way you don't take a big hit in Renown.
