Lock-On FC Stuck in Theatre View

Hello there all,

I have a very frustrating problem with my LO-FC. The game loads up without any problems and functions perfectly right up to the point where you press FLY. Once pressed the game loads and when complete is stuck in Theatre mode. I cannot get a cockpit view for love nor money!

I've re-installed from scratch several times. I'm not running any modifications and have my TRACK-IR disabled. It just doesn't want to allow me to switch to cockpit. Any help will be gratefully received! Screenshot attached. Thanks.

As a side note this happens on every aspect of the game, i.e missions / online / training etc.

That's because you haven't picked out a plane and loaded it yet. If you do not press FLY from a screen that looks something like this- you don't have an aircraft, thus you are a "spectator".

No that's not the case here. I select the aircraft, load it out etc etc and press FLY and it still sets me in Spectator upon connecting to the server and loading.

It's really strange!

hmm Are you SURE you have selected a side? (online)

The only exception is on the Quick missions- the fly buttons right on the main menu under the aircraft. If you try one of those, and you end up in cockpit (press F1 once loaded if needed) then you are messing it up somehow.

Go into the hyperlobby and join a mission there. When you join you will connect to the server, and start in the coalitions screen. Don't mess with any connection settings. (except your name if you want.)

Select red or blue OK

Select plane

Loadout

Fly

Yeah I know that process mate, I've been playing LO-FC for a good 3 years now and was a member of 9thAF. Thanks for your suggestions though, really appreciate your help!

SHeesh.. I dunno. I've heard of missions taking forever to load because they have too much CRAP in them- overloading the bandwidth. Or because clients were lacking sufficient memory. Combinations of both.

What speed are you trying to connect at? Try setting it to 128/128


Key conflicts- are you setting F11 as a push to talk key or something? What happens during this view- with everything loaded - if you press F1?

Yeah I tried the F1 cockpit view and it just doesn't wanna work. The key mappings are set to default.

Might have to go with a re-install of my OS.

i HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM WITH FLAMING CLIFFS! i sorry caps! i cant take control of the aircraft in any mission even f1 cockpit view wont work i have no control but my joystick hat still looks around! this is very frustrating please help!!!!!
