COOP Framelag

Ok guys. I'm having a huge problem with coop today...
Yesterday, I've been playing COOP and SP, and it all ran smoothly... Today when I booted up my computer, and wanted to play with a friend who bought the game today. I'm having HUGE framelag, 5 to 10 FPS (I checked with Fraps). Also, my mate, who's graphics card isn't as good as mine, gets 30-50 FPS.
I haven't got anything new installed, or there is nothing new running in the background, so I have no Idea what could be wrong... It isn't something with my system because HL2 on full works still smoothly (100-150 FPS) on highest.
The single player still runs smoothly... It's only a problem in COOP. Also, in SP, I'm running SP at 1280*960 and Coop at 1024*768.

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated bcs I'm waiting for 5 days now to play with my mate, and now I can't http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

AMD Athlon 64 3500+
1024 Mb RAM
GeForce 6800GT

what card does your friend have? i tihnk it might be because of shader 3.0 if you use it

I'm using Shader 3.0
He has got a FX5500 and uses 1.1
