Hi there,
to make it as short as possible:

- I got SC:CT when it came out. I played online.
- Last week I bought a new gfx card and SC:CT was included.
- I gave my previous SC:CT to a friend.
- When he tries to play online he gets a "CD-Key already in use" message.

Anyone any ideas?

If you're both trying to use the CDKey online at the same time, it won't work. Only one person can use a unique CD Key at a time. It's to prevent piracy.

You'll have to use separate CD Keys. Try uninstalling your game and installing it using your new copy.

Yes, I uninstalled SC:CT because it didn't auth the new CD but I'm not sure if it ever asked for the new cd-key (the online one)

Is it possible that a cd-key is linked to a profile?

Ok, I uninstalled SC:CT completely and installed it again. Now it works ok... well, at least we have no cd-key problems...

Glad I could help. And the edit button is off on the right hand side of your posts. Right by the quote button.

EDIT- Oh yea, if I remember right, it should ask you for your multiplayer CDKey the first time you log onto SvM.
