Okay so I know next-to-nothing about networking, aside from hooking two fast networking cables to a router, to your cable modem and bam you have internet on each computer.
I built my own computer 3+ years ago so I have plenty of knowledge in that regard...
But the deal is, I have 2 computers. Both connected to a router, which is connected to my cable modem. They both have excellent internet capability (meaning at least I got that part of it right...).
However, I've never been able to figure out how to share files between the "network connections" thingy.
My #1 problem is I don't know if I have it set up right to share files and whatever else, and if I do, #2 I'm obviously doing something wrong because on each computer it only displays itSELF in the home network window.
I have files I wish to move back and forth, they aren't large, but there's about 100 of them probably totalling less than 5 megabytes all together. Since you guys are liek TEH GURUS, PLZ HEPL!

Dunnow exact but share the disks?
Go to this computer --> C:/ right click it --> Share disk (find it).
Maybe it helps.

Mmmmk, so I did that, simple enough, now I see both computers like I should.
Now the last problem I have is that my newer computer doesn't have permission to access the older one.
???
Not a priority since I need the files to go to hte older computer, but since I have your attention, I may as well get this working right now that I'm this far...

Find the hard drive that you wish to share files on via either file explorer or my computer, right click it/properties/then go to the sharing tab.

When I'm trying to access my files on the OLDER computer from the newer computer, I get a message that says something like, You might not have permission to access these files, please contact your system administrator.

right click the folder, sharing tab> enable file sharing.
then, go to the other computer across the network, and go start>run
type "\\computername" with out the quotes, and filling in the computer name that had the folders you wish to view

Well then it should be working, rofl. Home edition is made to be simple.. Try something for me would you ? Go in a folder. Click Tools --> Folder Options --> View --> Make sure both have "Use simple file sharing" checked.
If that dosen't work for whatever reason, Use the "Set up a home or small office network" thingy located in "My network Places" and make sure you have it save the config file in a USB Flash stick or something. Then load it up with the other PC and they *should* work.

i like to use tripple nades and sticky cams. that map demands alot of aggro tactics from the spies. as a merc i use BP, nades, mines and gas mask along with the rifle.
