Armor Mods - Mag Pouches Working?

OK, so I haven't focused a lot on the magazine pouches because I'm a pistol-only guy. However, one day I was bored an inevitably wanted to carry a shotgun. Does the extra mags thing actually work?

I know that by default, you carry 1 mag in the rifle + 3 mag in the pack (for STANAG-types, 30 in rifle, 90 in pack) so technically wouldn't extra mags be 1 mag in the rifle and 6 in the pack? With gadget pouches I get 30/90, but unless I have done something terribly wrong, AFAIK I still only get 30/90 equipping the entire middle row. Do I have to resupply those pouches or what? Am I confused? Should I consult a chocolate bar?

Once the pouches are empty they need to be resupplied, but otherwise that should be it.

you can only Equip 3 items in that section.

so if you have 2 armor only 1 will fit for ammo.

I think you missed the point =_= If I have 3 magazine pouch mods, I should have an extra 100% spare ammo, should I not? So instead of 30/90 bullets, I'd have 30/180 bullets.
