I read every tip on how to beat this boss, and no matter how many times (or in sequence) I mash the X button he never falls off the ledge. After 30 times of more (I stopped counting after the controller flew across the room)
I relieved the stress and sold the game. This was the first Ubisoft game in years as the last one had annoyed me for similar reasons. This will be the last for me forever. Sorry Dean I will not play *** (that's intentional) Creed now!
Who the hell uses button mashing these days lol!
Devil May Cry 4, Fable 2 Rules! This does not.

who told you it was X? its the square button. I found that out of the Warrior, Hunter, Concubine and the Alchemist, the Warrior was the easy one to beat.
First battle, knock him off the ledge, easy enough. Second battle also the same thing. Stand near an edge and let the Warrior come to you. Press Square, X and then O to cause the prince to duck under the warrior. Rush back in with Square a couple times to force the Warrior to the edge. You'll get a sequence with Elika darting in front of the prince and you need to mash the Square button to force the Warrior off.
Every fight with the Warrior requires the same tactic.

Eh man, accrding to his signature I'm gonna presume he plays the xbox version. As such X is his square button(much like the right mouse button is the pc's button).
I'm sorry you too are unable to defeat the warrior as well Superfields. He is a broken boss that proves to be unbeatable for a minority of players who can't time enough button presses to what the game was programed to accept.
I think this would be a good thread to explain to the developers the frustration many of my fellow gamers have with this boss.
It would be appreciated if a member of the development team made a statement over this one specific boss and why they made it this way.

Ha, I think the sheer amount of threads like these in this forum is a pretty clear enough indication. Some people think it was implemented very easily, others were not so blessed (cursed?) with the Button Mashing gene. Shouldn't work for one while alienating the other, though.
Hopefully a member of the press will be able to discuss some of the game mechanics with Ben Mattes or another developer to understand why they made combat this way and if they know it's been difficult for many people.

Well I found it pretty easy once I understood what I needed to do. The battle I probably had the most issues with in regards to the right button for the sequence was for the Concubine.
Overall I didn't find the battles to be that difficult. And I never felt like I was button mashing either.

I agree concubine was the toughest. The warrior was the most frustrating as I had to "move him into position" before I could push him to his death.

I actually thought the Warrior was the toughest to beat simply because, as DrumThrum said, I had to move him into position in order to knock him off the edge. That was probably the longest (and most frustrating) boss-battle in the game for me. I either couldn't get him into the right place, or he kept knocking me away and whatnot. As far as "button-mashing" goes, I didn't have any problems.

The Warrior is really easy when you figure out that you don't have to "move him into position". Trying to push him into position is only going to drag out the fight and get you frustrated when he inevitably tosses you across the floor. Stand in front of the ledge or in front of the cage/pillar and he will come to you. Roll out of the way and get behind him. Hit him with a couple of combos and you'll easily trigger the button mash sequence. Hit the button as fast as you can, and you should have no problem beating him.

Thats the problem man, anyone can move him to the right spot. Thats as easy as eating cake(unless you got dietary/physical issues against ya).
No good sir, the problem is that at least 5% of gamers who will play this game are just unable to bash the ******* button the amount that the game requires. As such, the game is unbeatable and punishes a portion of the paying game playing public due to physical limitations.

It's easy to get him to the edge and tipped over. It's the x button (360) part that fails. After finally giving up after hours of effort I traded PoP back to GS for Ninja Gaiden 2. Sorry Ubisoft, you lost another one. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

Devil May Cry 4, Fable 2 Rules! This does not.
For rapid, single button "mashing" during mini-battle I let go of the controller with my right hand and quickly rock or flick the controller with my left hand. I hold my right thumb still and hit the button against it. I don't know if I'm explaining this right, but I can go Faster and Longer (hmm..?). IN other words I don't hit the button with my thumb, I hit the controller and button INTO my thumb.
Yes, this does make it difficult to get back to the R2(block on PS3) if needed.
Is this crazy?
But once you figure out how to bait the warrior in to position and run between his stony legs, the rest is a combo and rapid "mashing" when he tries to crush you with his foot off balance. Pretty easy. Even for an old man like me.

I use the exact same technique, Penrithjon! I keep my right hand in the same position but just lock it into place, with my thumb resting over the button. Then I stabilize the controller by pushing it into my right hand as I rapidly rattle or vibrate the controller with my left hand. I always envision one of those old-fashioned telegraph Morse-code devices, for some reason. Anyways, it really helps to avoid tiring out my thumb.
I hope there aren’t too many more people who sell POP because of this enemy. I thought fighting the Warrior kept things interesting because he was defeated in such a different way. For me, the final battle with the Warrior was the easiest but the most memorable of all the Corrupted.

man if you guys can't button mash, don't ever try Metal Gear Solid...
And you don't need to mash the button that fast either. Just hold the controller in one hand and tap the button as quick as you can with your other hand. Only time I ever failed the button mash was if Elika was down.
