Hello there !
I have a problem with my Saitek X-45:
All is working at startup with the newest Saitek drivers.
But when flying a little time, let's say about 10 - 20 minutes, all buttons on the stick flicker and then it is only responding with a delay of about 2 - 5 seconds. After a reboot all is "fine" again at startup and then this happens again.
I have a via KT266 chipset, newest drivers and USB filter patch 1.10.
Also the Windows XP updates for USB are installed and i also tried the beta patch of a certain person for pci delays .... the name is not at hand :-)
Tested all USB ports, deactivated the other ones, ......
Any suggestion ?
ThX !

With an X45 you should have a self-powered USB hub to run it on, this stick is a real power hog and running off bus power is usually not enough. This should solve most of the problem, but the game itself has bugs that affect the controller and cause it to have delayed responses at times. It shouldn't happen as often any more, but will probably still happen occasionally. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Hi
Its sure to be the mainboard. Had a similar problem with my MSI K7T266 board (with KT266 chipset).
Basically, that chipset is faulty! When the CPU you got on it is near the boards limit (and the FSB is on 133MHz), you might see the USB-part on the board getting power shortages from time to time. Can happen anytime and usually just for a sec or two, but well enough for giving you time to crash your airplane wieh your stick dont respond properly.
Only thing that works is to set down the FSB (maybe to 130 or so), but of couse then you will loose CPU power. Dont think about overclocking the FSB, that will make the USB chip (and probably more IO stuff) to totally stop working...
I traded away my mainboard for this spesific reason, and got the MSI K7TPro2 version of the card (using the updated, and great, KT266A chipset).
Best bet is to sell you card and get a new one. On the positive side, at least this isnt the games fault... http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
